About this assignment
Ideally we will find someone who would like to explore Orléans, but will also just enjoy a quiet home with a yard near the river. And, of course, a cat lover! Someone reliable and responsible who has experience traveling and pet sitting.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
It's just a weekend so no plant care required, just feeding and loving the cat and letting him in and out. He is very cool and easy and affectionate. He likes being both inside and outside. He rarely uses the litter box. We sometimes leave the back door open a bit for him (our yard is private) so he is free to go in and out. Taking care of him is really just feeding him and being around. He's sometimes very independent and sometimes wants to sit on you : )
What are the good features of the property and location
Orléans is a quiet, pretty city on the Loire river. We are a 3-minute walk from the river and you can walk on a path along the river for miles/kms in both directions (toward the city center and away from it, into nature). I never get tired of the sunsets and the birds! The flat is quiet, sunny and very safe. We have a small private yard + patio with a table. I do everything on a bike (we are in Saint Jean de Braye, but Orléans city center is a 12-minute bike ride), but there is a bus and a tram nearby.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are leaving during the day on Thursday 17 September and will be home late in the evening on Sunday 20 September. We are flexible in terms of how to organize your stay.
Can I bring my own pets?

Loving Cabriole & our time on the Loire
Sonja was awesome to deal with right from our first email and video chat. We knew exactly what was needed from us, plus we had so many suggestions for places to go and where to pick up the best baguettes and patisseries. Their home is located just outside Orleans with loads of shops within a km. Also, you can walk the Loire and be in the centre within 40 minutes or cycle and be there in 10. The best part though was Cabriole. He is so sweet and affectionate. Loves to knead you when he wants to cuddle in. Enjoys his freedom to come and go but he always comes inside for some time to play string and get some pets. He was so easy to take care of. Albin & Sonja have a lovely home with lots of great plants. Just a little water needed once a week, so very low maintenance. The garden was great for sitting outside for our picnic lunches. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves cats.
