About this assignment

We are looking for a dog-loving house sitter or couple to look after Hooch, my son's big but soft-as-a-brush Dogue-de-Bordeaux / German Shepherd cross.
Dates can be tweaked slightly (shortened but not extended) at the sitter's convenience to suit their availability.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Pretty easy really. Hooch likes a few good walks every day, and chomps his ball on most of them, but isn't much interested in 'Fetch' after a couple of goes. He's strong, but doesn't walk overly fast, and stops frequently to take in the doggie smells and add his own ;-) In the house he will sleep for hours uncomplainingly but prefers to have company. He doesn't bark but will whine if he gets too lonely.
Other than providing food, drink and a little love, you will have the rest of the day to yourself.

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a very standard semi-detached house with quite a big garden that won’t need any maintenance. We are a 15-minute walk from a long sandy beach and 30-40 minutes from Llandudno, Snowdonia, Bodnant Gardens, Conwy, etc..
Other family members live close by and will be available to deal with any problems, or to advise on the best places to visit, shop or eat. (They have a dog and three cats, two boys, and work full time, so we are not asking them to look after Hooch!).
Sitters will also have full use of a wide range of TV entertainment, music, and a good library of fiction and non-fiction.
A man's touring bike is available, and the nearby coastal bike route stretches for many miles.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

There are no real logistic issues with this assignment. There is a bus route past the house and the main bus/train stations in Rhyl town are just a 20-minute walk away. Hooch is somewhat slobbery, especially when fed his favourite Digestive biscuits. He also sheds a lot of fur, so not great perhaps for anyone with allergies.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
