About this assignment
We will be on vacation twice a year (spring and autumn) for typically 10 weeks.
During that time it would be fine to have a couple or single in our house which likes to keep the house in good condition, feed our cat and enjoy the "German Toscana".
Now we are looking for house sitters for spring 2025, beginning of April 3 to June 28.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Not too much - depending on the weather it would be fine to do a little gardening, keeping the house clean as usual and take care of our cat.
What are the good features of the property and location
If you like the special flair of a refurbished frame work house you will love it.
Our house is located in the south-west corner of Germany at the foot of the “Black Forest”.
We are also close to France (30 km), Switzerland (60 km) and Italy (350 km). So you can imagine – there are numerous possibilities to enjoy culture and nature. And – Freiburg is a very nice town with a historic center and a lot of students.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Please note:
You should know that there is only one bedroom and we have only wood stoves. The kitchen is well equipped and a spacious bathroom is available.
We have a reliable public transportation system with a stop near by. You may use our bicycles.
Can I bring my own pets?

To describe how home and welcome we felt, would take pages. If you can and want, go for this sitting close to Freiburg! Mia, sweetheart of a cat and friend, in front of fire stoves and laptops, did we spent almost 1 and a half years together. Means we housesitted 8 times at Wulfs and Claudias Place! They are lovely, hearted and you can talk about life and be friends with them. It's the perfect sitting if you want to live close to a city - Freiburg, and still have your own quiet place. Take the bike or walk to your preferred supermarket, internet is good, trow some logs around and fire up this cosy place. Recommended is the close by forrest for walks and the smaller and bigger hills around. Ever heard of Kaiserstuhl? This wine place in southwest Germany is always warmer then the rest of the country and when you have a car, go see France or Swiss and walk around the beautiful Schwarzwald. Mia - best cat ever - is a self employed joy of partner during your sit. Feeding is easy, no injuries or special practices, only the best part: cuddling and living together. Lovely house, beautiful garden, happy cat
Claudia and Wulf were very welcoming when we arrived and it felt great from the first moment. They showed us the house, the garden and how to take care of Mia. We were house sitting for about two weeks and we enjoyed it very much. The house and the garden are beautiful and we loved sitting on the sunny terrace and taking care of the tomato plants. Mia was a lovely company and greeted us enthusiastically every morning. We went on many hikes through the vineyards and explored the surrounding areas. We can definitively recommend this house sit and we would be happy to come back one day. Thank you!

Sunny Southern Germany
Wulf and Claudia were warm and welcoming from the minute we met via Skype. Their home is in an excellent location to explore the Black Forest and wine regions in Germany and France. Hiking and biking opportunities are endless and there is always a festival going on in the region. I loved staying in there classic half timbered home which was a joy in itself. Mia, the kitten, was very sweet and easy to care for. I had a wonderful time and hope to return to sit for them in the future.

Wonderful House Sit??
We met Wulf and Claudia and Mia before the sit and knew right away it would be great. Wulf and Claudia prepared a delicious meal for us and took us for a short hike around the town and vineyards. They have a charming comfortable home and a very friendly adorable kitty cat (Mia) who was a joy to look after. Their house is located in a beautiful part of Germany that is close to the borders of France and Switzerland which made for many hiking and sightseeing opportunities nearby. We recommend this Sit highly and would love to come back in the future.
