Experience in taking care of cats is essential.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
This job will have a few responsibilities. Frank is pretty independent, although he is social enough to usually be hanging out in the same room.
He is an outdoor cat, but he is usually satisfied with just staying on the property. In the colder months, he is outside less and less as he gets older. But he still likes to do his daily rounds.
It should be made sure that he makes it in the house every night. There is a litterbox that must be scooped every 2 days. He gets fed smaller portions, a few times a day.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in the middle of Favrskov kommune in Jutland, Denmark.
It is a large countryside property within 30 minutes of Aarhus, Randers, Viborg and Silkeborg.
Having a car is essential, living out in the countryside. The closest grocery store is 8km away.
We have two houses on the property. We live in the main house with Frankie, and we have a guest house.
You will be staying in the guest house, but are welcome to spend as much time as you want in our main living room/kitchen, hanging out with Frank.
We have a beautiful forest down the street, perfect for a nature walk.
High-speed internet, laundry facilities, and a Chromecast are available to you.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Staying overnight, every night is a requirement.
The weather in April can be grey and chilly.
Our homes are heated with wood pellets, so you will have to refill the reservoir every few days.
We like to receive lots of little updates and pictures of Frankie, as we will be missing him :)
We will be leaving early on April 4, so it's better if you arrive on the 3rd so that we can show you around.

Michelle, Mathias and Frank are dream hosts!
We had an exceptionally smooth sit taking care of Frankie. Michelle and Mathias are thorough communicators and thoughtful hosts; we kept in touch with them leading up to and throughout the sit. They also provided us with detailed, clear instructions for Frankie's (easy-to-manage) care before we arrived, which is always a great help. Frank totally stole our hearts, he is a delightful mix of sweet, social and independent – his presence (and little cat kisses) really brought a lot of joy into our lives during our stay. Both the guest house and the main house were comfortable, clean and calming (with a wonderful bed, thank you for that!!). Michelle and Mathias did everything to prepare for our visit, coordinate handoffs, and made sure to check in to see if we needed anything while they were away. The local area is lovely and quiet, we enjoyed getting to visit the nearby villages and walking lots of pretty trails in the late fall :) we would highly recommend this sit to any cat and country lover, it's a great opportunity!

The Perfect House Sit
My partner and I are very grateful that we were able to house sit and pet sit for Michelle and Mathias. Not only did they make us feel welcome and have one of the friendliest cats I have ever met, but they are a genuine couple who made us feel completely at home. Communication was easy, and they were available if we had questions at any time. Michelle leaves detailed instructions in case of any scenario which made us feel very confident in case anything were to arise. They have clearly put a great deal of time and effort into their home and we wish them the best on their new adventure.

We had a great time on Sao Miguel. Michelle and Mathias are very easy going, and made us feel very welcome. They came to pick us up at the airport, they drove us to the supermarket etc. Their house is really comfortable, the surroundings beautiful for walking, the beach nearby. Peaceful village. Their cat Frank is lovely, sleeping close to us, enjoying his food and your company, although he likes his privacy too :) Only positive feelings, looking back. Corrie and Rob

House/Catsit in Beautiful Ribeira Cha, Azores for Michelle Barbeau
All I can say is Wow, wow, wow!!! What an awesome House/Catsit in a stunning location, for an awesome couple and a delightful cat, Frank!!! I would repeat any day, not to be missed! For a while I have been wanting to visit the beautiful Azores Islands and I was lucky enough to be chosen by Michelle & Mathias, wow so Lucky! They are exceptional hosts, who made me feel at home immediately. They were kind enough to also stock the fridge for the first few days of my stay as I didn't have a car. Mathias fetched me in Ponta Delgado, plus also welcomed my daughter to join me for part of my stay and made us both feel exceptionally welcome, leaving clear instructions and staying in constant contact. I would repeat in a heartbeat!!! Their home is in a beautiful location, Ribeira Cha, overlooking the Ocean and the Mountains, stunning nature, the friendliest people, delicious food and experiences never to be forgotten! All I can say is a HUGE Thank You, to you both, and not forgetting the friendliest and sweetest Cat, Frank!

A superb experience
My parner and I stayed in Michelle's and Mathias house in Sao Miguel for 8 days, and utterlly enjoyed the experience. Their cat Frank is one of the sweetest, lovliest, easy-going creatures I've ever met. He was a lovely company during our working hours, as much as in the times of relax. He loves his food and a little play every now and then. In exchange for those, he kindly accepted us as temporary residents and companions, and day by day got closer and closer to us. The house itself is beautifully located and decorated. It was a pleasure to stay in there, as much as explore the amazing outdoors of the island. We were treated with great hospitality, and offered just about everything we required for the time of our stay, Mathias even stocked the fridge and pantry for us for our first days withouth a car! The welcome and the communication were great, and so was the place and its proud owner, Frank :)

Wonderful folks to house sit for
It was with great pleasure to house sit for Michelle and Mathias. They left us with a wealth of information about the house and Frank, their wonderful cat. The house was clean, they made sure we had sufficient sheets, pillows and towels, they even left us some money for the clothes washing. The location is great with short walks to fantastic parks by the river and a short stroll to downtown. The cat (Frank) is super friendly and loved to cuddle on the sofa with us. He let us know when he was hungary and it was feeding time. He also would greet us and gave us kisses when we returned from our daily walks.
