I’m looking for a responsible, kind-hearted adult (or adult couple) who loves animals and will treat my home with care and respect.
We have 4 dogs- A Great Pyrenees (Flora), Newfoundland (Finn), Weimaraner (Nova) and a Basset Hound (Murphy) they are gentle and sweet. Flora is a guardian breed and needs to meet you properly before she will be comfortable with you. The three cats like to come and go, spending most of their time outside.
I’d love a sitter who communicates well, follows simple routines, and genuinely enjoys a peaceful, pet-filled home. All the animals are outside except Nova thinks she is a human and sleeps inside at night and wants to be in during the day when we're home.
Daily tasks include checking the dogs auto feeder and refilling as needed. Giving them love and attention, and making sure everyone is safe and comfortable. Nova enjoys a good walk but the others are content to run amok in the backyard.
The cats mostly care for themselves but enjoy occasional pets and treats. I also have a few indoor/outdoor plants that will need watering. Please also bring in the mail and keep the house tidy.
My home is in Hokes Bluff, one of the safest and quietest towns in Alabama. It’s a peaceful spot with friendly neighbors, a relaxed pace, and everything you need within a short drive. You’ll have access a shaded porch, a garden space, and WiFi. It’s a great place to relax, unwind, or focus on remote work surrounded by animals who will keep you company. Easy to make day trips to Birmingham and Huntsville.
This sit is best for an adult or couple who are comfortable with big dogs and enjoy a quiet lifestyle. The pets can be left alone in our fenced backyard while you're out. The cats stay outside other than a long snuggle session once or twice a day. We do not keep a litter box inside, so ensuring they are put back outside is essential!
If you love animals and a slower pace, this will be a great fit. You'll need to be here 1-2 days before we leave to ensure the animals are acclimated to you and you have time to get to know the place and ask any questions.
