Horse: Cedar is a Morgan mare, gentle and sweet and knows her routine. Cedar is 25. Our 2 wonderful Setter poos. Wicker and Teeno. Litter mates and 2 yrs old.
We are looking for someone who will take care of our home and furry loved one while we are away. We have a sweet, gentle horse named Cedar.
Your responsibilities would include taking care of our furry family. Feeding, watering, stall cleaning, care and maintenance and just enjoying our lovely little piece of paradise.
We are situated on 20 acres in the country, surrounded by fir trees and pasture land. Our house is warm and inviting with large windows to let in the light and to view the beauty at every turn. The gourmet kitchen is well stocked so trips to town are only when you want to go. Just off the kitchen is a large deck, perfect for enjoying morning coffee, meals, sunsets, a good book or just to enjoy the outdoors, all complete with a propane fire pit, comfortable chairs and a grill/smoker. Don't forget the birds. You never know what little flyer will visit our feeders.
We're just far enough from Portland to be rural, but close enough to slip in when you want or enjoy nearby historic Silverton which is only 20 minutes away. The house is not too big or too small, roughly 1000 sq. ft. Perfect for our lifestyle. There's also High speed internet (fiber optic speeds) and Satellite Tv.
We're 15 minutes from the nearest town and Silverton is only 20 minutes, with antiques, gifts, restaurants and an old movie theater with the latest block buster movies. Silver Falls State park is just outside of town with many waterfalls to hike to or view from the viewpoints as well as The Oregon Garden, a wonderful botanical garden you won't want to miss. The Molalla river is only 10 minutes away that you can follow for miles and miles. Of course Portland is only an hour away with all their fine restaurants and culture when the city calls to you. The Oregon Coast is only 2 hours away and with a little help from the neighbors, you could spend the day there as well. We are located 15 minutes from the nearest town, which means lots of solitude and quiet. We also have a car we're willing to share.
No, sorry.

Peaceful Farm in the Forest
Ed and Jana's place is certainly one of the best we've ever looked after. We felt very fortunate to spend time there, and sincerely hope we can return someday. Their house is set on 20 acres, overlooking pastures surrounded by trees. The home and garden are very beautiful, with bird-watching galore. The house has a lot of attention to detail with handmade wood accents. It's a cozy, relaxing, and rejuvenating space to spend time. Their cats are very cute and affectionate. Darwin is young and playful, an incredibly adorable little guy. Doogle is shy at first but very snuggly once he's gotten acquainted, he's a snowshoe cat with pretty markings. Their two mares are older and are easy keepers. They are accustomed to their routines and come in at night. Both are friendly and well trained - easy to lead, brush, bathe, etc. A unique aspect for us personally was the high speed fiber internet in a rural setting. We both work remotely and need fast/stable internet for our jobs. It's rare to have a beautiful rural setting with the infrastructure we need for work. We felt very fortunate to find it here! Ed and Jana were very great to connect with. Keeping in touch during our housesit was easygoing and stress free. We hope to stay in touch for years to come!
