About this assignment
Hi, my wife and I have booked a holiday in New Zealand from 2 Nov to 1 Dec 2026.
We seek a mature couple , responsible , outgoing , some experience with pets to look after our house , garden, 3 cats and frog pond in a quiet neighbourhood 30 mins from the city of Kuala Lumpur .
Couples with children are also welcome, 2 couples with young children and babies have house sitted for us.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Keep the house neat and tidy.
Look after and feed three cats (Pumpkin, Queenie, Rosella)twice a day( morning and night).or when they head butt and meow at you.
Clean the frog pond once every two weeks ( scoping out fallen leaves )
Tidy and water the garden when needed.
What are the good features of the property and location
- Kuala Lumpur is 30 mins by subway. Subway station 1.7km away, walking takes 20 min and cycling 8 min..
-Nice breezy shady verandah where you can have your meals ,read or relax.
-Quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours and many parks nearby.
-2 shopping malls and lots of shops and restaurants within walking or cycling distance of 1.5km radius.
-Lots of hiking and jungle trails within a 10km radius.
-Internet speed is a reliable 100 Mbps.
-Have 4 bicycles(two foldies) you can use.
-Airport 1 hour away with taxi or e-hailing services
-All bedrooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans.
-2 Storey house with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms
- Garden planted with fruit trees, vegetables and herbs which you are welcome to harvest and enjoy.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Lots of new places, things , food and drinks to see,try, and enjoy.
We do not have a TV but have an extensive library of English and German books.
You are welcome to use our house as a base to travel around Malaysia or the region after the house sit.
Can I bring my own pets?

Our first house sitting - a good and interesting experience
Although we had no reviews on this website, Ilse and Wee Hon chose us for their house sitting and we thank them for the trust they placed in us. We received a lot of important information for our time in KL in advance. We arrived a day early and were warmly welcomed by the two of them. We were shown everything in the house and garden and given a tour of the local area with shops and restaurants, so that we were well prepared for the next four weeks. We were also very well catered for. The three cats, Roselle, Queenie and Pumpkin, were very easy to look after. They were a bit shy at first, but then they quickly got used to us and it was really nice with them. The different characters were interesting, while Queenie and Pumpkin were a bit timid (especially during thunderstorms), Roselle was very fearless. We also enjoyed the frog concert in the evening. The house has everything you need. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful covered outdoor terrace, where we spent most of our time. We went on many excursions during the four weeks. The metro takes you everywhere and there is so much to discover in and around KL. Dear Ilse, dear Wee Hon, thank you very much once again for making this possible for us.

Wonderful housesit in Malaysia
We had a great house sit! Wee Hon and Isle are wonderful, kind, and generous hosts. They were kind enough to invite our son Ryan who was traveling with us at the time to housesit along with us. They also told us we would drop off any excess bags we had before the housesit so we could travel around Malaysia a little lighter. They showed us all the best places to shop and their favorite places to eat and took us out for a lovely lunch. Couldn’t ask for nicer people and we’ll definitely keep in touch. We loved looking after the girls, Pumpkin, Rosel and Queenie. They’re very sweet cats with different personalities, Pumpkin is the head cat being the oldest, while Queenie is a bit shy unless it’s feeding time and sassy Rosel who likes to play. They were very easy to look after, it’s always hard when it’s time to leave. The house is nice and comfortable with a lovely garden and is close to a lot of restaurants, cafes and 2 shopping malls. It’s within walking distance of 2 train stations that go straight to Kuala Lumpur in 30 minutes. You can also take some day trips with public transportation like the Genting Highlands. Wee Hon and Isle left a list of places close by for us to visit. Thank you, Wee Hon, Isle, Pumpkin, Queenie and Rosel for a wonderful sit and great memories. We definitely recommend the housesit. We’ll keep in touch and hope to see each other again on our travels.

One of the best experiences of our lives
We were excited to go on an adventure like this with our 2 years old daughter, but when we arrived Ilse and Wee Hon welcomed us so nicely, that all of our concerns fade away. They are very kind people, and gave us a lot useful advices what to do around. We loved their house: tidy, comfortable, and the small garden is charming. The cats were cute as well, a little bit shy at the beginning, but became friendlier day by day. Our daugter, Rosie was especially close to Roselle, the youngest cat, but all of them were special. We loved to spend 6 weeks there, and I hope we will meet again in the future!

So much more than just a housesit!
The housesit for Wee Hon and Ilse was so much more than just a housesit! You will feel this right away. Wee Hon and Ilse are very welcoming, hospitable people. Before they left to Europe, they welcomed us on arrival with big smiles and home made soup. Plus, they spent one full day to let us get acquinted with the house, the cats and the area. We appreciated this warm start very much! The house is located in a green, quiet, residential area. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Access to public transport into KL is within walking distance. Though the house is light and large, you probably will spend most of your time outside on their terrace adjacent to the garden. The cats are simply adorable! They have very different characters, but all 3 are easygoing, friendly cats. As long as you approach them in a relaxed and gentle way, they will hang around you, "asking" for their daily portion of TLC. During the housesit we kept in touch via whatsapp. Besides whatsapp, the internet connection is stable and reliable, which makes remote working possible. After Wee Hon and Ilse returned home, they generously offered us their house as a base while travelling around the region. This shows you how generous and hospitable they are! We cherish the time spent together with these lovely people and bring back home lot's of great memories!

Lovely pets, home and owners
We were so grateful that Wee Hon and Ilse took a chance with us! It was their first experience at offering a house sit and they said yes to us - a family with 2 young kids! They were so relaxed that they let us stay with them the night before they left and also for a night after their return. Not only that but they cooked a meal for us on both nights! Their 3 cats were easy and Roselle is especially friendly. We enjoyed listening to the frogs at night! We highly recommend Wee Hon and Ilse as great people to sit for. Their house would suit anyone who likes to try eco friendly approaches - they recycle everything they can, which is so refreshing compared to other experiences we have had with rubbish in this part of the world.
