About this assignment
To look after the 1/2 Ha very fertile finca we have next to the river Guadiana in Andalucia. We are moving next door (literally!) and there is a lot of work to do there and so we have too much ground to work on our own.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Essentially to look after and use the property as it was their own. There are three vegetable gardens which we use in rotation so there is fruit and veg to grow, harvest, preserve and eat!
What are the good features of the property and location
Peace and Beauty! Soak up the tranquillity of a rural spanish finca and of course we are on the river though we prefer to swim in the fresh crystal clear well water which we pump every day for irrigation. We are totally off grid and there is a car here for trips in to town.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are completely off grid so you need to be self reliant so if it's broke you get to fix it though we are next door if it all gets too much! Seriously though you are much more on your own than you may be used to.

Restrictions: dogs must be OK with horses and cats

Andalucia finca life
One of the best house sits ever! This is a remote area on the river with the nicest people living there, all welcoming and inclusive offering help when needed. The gardens are luscious with organic food to eat in abundance. Of course it requires a bit of work to harvest and preserve but worth it. The horses were nice to have around. One of them could be a bit cheeky but not a real problem. The house is very comfortable with everything needed to be comfortable. So, nice long walks in the morning, great food and a lovely house with a large deck and upstairs terrace for stargazing. We were even left a vehicle for trips to the lovely village for shopping which is about 5km away. Mark and Kari are very generous and showed us around before and after their departure. We kept in touch via WhatsApp. Would definitely sit again and hope to see them again either with a sit or otherwise. Just wonderful folks, you couldn't ask for better!

Lovely, quiet, home with two horses, fruit trees, and gardens right on the Guadiana river. A really exceptional experience.
