About this assignment
Quiet, non smoker (or outside only), responsible, flexible. Communicates with us on a regular basis (text, email periodically) about our cat and any house issues or questions.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed our 4 yr old cat twice a day, play with her, clean her litter box daily. Collect the mail, keep the house clean, drive our 2 cars periodically to keep battery charged. Water some plants and trees, depending on rainfall.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house is 10 miles east of San Diego, so close to the ocean, Balboa Park and lots to do. Trolley is available to downtown. Can walk to downtown La Mesa for grocery stores and restaurants, and farmers market. Our house has view of mountains, lovely deck.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Our house is on a hill so if walking, there will be some uphill, some of it steep although for short distance. We’re in our 70s and still enjoy the aerobics!

Great views from the hills surrounding La Mesa
I had the opportunity to sit for Tracy, Ray and their 4 year old cat Miso! They have a beautiful home with great views from the large deck. I enjoyed looking after Miso because she was so easy going and required little attention as she roamed the house for different places to hang out. I enjoyed my daily walks as it's a lovely area and the 'secret stairs' really do help as a shortcut to some windy roads leading to the top and then you can choose the various paths to go downtown or the nearby Sprouts market! Tracy and Ray kept me in touch with their itinerary, allowing me to drop / pick them up from the airport. I will defiantly sit for them again in the future!

Fabulous San Diego
I had the opportunity to sit for Tracy and Ray and Gracie their home is beautiful and Gracie their cat was such a love, I really enjoyed having cuddles and brushing her and the weather turned out to be so bad that we got to spend plenty of time together 😆 I did get out and got some exploring done it's a lovely area and the secret stairs are a must try. I'm sure if you get invited you will enjoy it and like myself hope to be invited back
