A peaceful time in the New Forest

About this assignment

We are ideally looking for a caring couple, but we will not rule out capable single people. The most important thing is to have a love of animals and a considerate outlook. You will need to be comfortable with living in a semi-remote location. We have a nice home in a lovely setting with plenty of outdoor space and a vegetable garden. The animals exist in harmony as our environment is peaceful and caring.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The sitters will need to walk the dogs twice a day. Feed the dogs and the cat. Let the birds out by 8 -8.30am latest and put them to bed, counting them in at dusk. Feed poultry and change their drinking water. (Chickens, Ducks, and Geese).

What are the good features of the property and location

We are in a great location with direct access to the forest. A four-bedroom house. Secure driveway parking behind electric gates.
A lovely forest pub within walking distance. Beaches and market towns nearby. There is a constant supply of fresh eggs from the hens and ducks. Aga is turned on from Nov - March and provides constant heating to an extended area, providing clothes drying with an over-aga rack. Sunroom with a view over the paddock to observe the visiting deer.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

House sitters need to be aware of daylight hours to put the birds to bed so they are safe.
The dog walks are twice a day, 20 mins around 8.30 am and 45 mins around 5 pm -6 pm. The maximum time they can be left alone is 4-5 hours.
We do not have young children in our lives, so our home is not 'set up' for children. Please do not invite children or grandchildren. (FYI, we like children, we just don't have any in the immediate family).
Visits by relatives and friends by prior agreement.

Can I bring my own pets?
