About this assignment
Housesitter who is practical and caring. Someone to walk our labrador Lily in the morning and evening and feed and care for our Siamese cat Max.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
To look after our pets; feed and walk our labrador twice daily; usually in the morning and a short walk at teatime. We also have a cat Max to care for, who is a character but independent.
What are the good features of the property and location
A lovely thatched cottage 3 miles from Banbury. Set in a picturesque village with 4 pubs, a shop, cafe and hairdresser. There are lots of green spaces and walks around this beautiful village and many walks into stunning countryside.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Our dog and cat are like family, they use the sofas and like lots of company and cannot be left alone for long periods. We would prefer someone who does not have their own pet with them. There are nice walks from the house along the river or in the woods. Corner shop is less the 1kms and larger supermarkets 10 mins by car. It is quiet with good neighbours; and internet are available.

Lovely experience....great people, pets and place...
As soon as we arrived at Jacqui and Ali’s house we knew everything was going to be great! Jacqui and Ali are thé easiest and greatest people to click with and made us feel relaxed and very welcome even from the moment of seeing the gate open for us. Lily is a beautiful dog and greeted us equally well and Max, although shy initially was just as they said, within a couple of days very chatty and very friendly. We spent an evening and a day with Jacqui and Ali before they set off on their travels, they cooked us delicious meals and showed us Lily’s favourite walks etc which was really helpful. The house is super easy, very comfortable and with a beautiful open plan kitchen/living/ dining area, opening out to the garden and lovely pool. They had thoughtfully prepared loads of things for us to make our stay really easy. Lily is just the loviest and easiest and was happy to come out on trips with us as well as her regular routine. The small village boasts 2 little shops and a boulangerie which were easy walking distance and walks were easy from the house for Lily. There is a larger supermarket just 10 mins or so by car. The area is great for walking, hikes and close enough to the coast and the mountains for a beautiful and varied landscape. We have our own vehicle which is great but it probably is possible to use buses , trains in the area instead. We fell in love with both Lily and Max and will definitely be back when invited. Wonderful week with Lily
I had a wonderful week at the home of Jackie and Ali, and hanging out with their gorgeous labrador, Lily. Lily is the sweetest, most well-natured dog and a pleasure to be with. She is very well-behaved and easy to care for. Jackie and Ali's home is very comfortable and the pool is a welcome relief on the hot summer days. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend this housesit to future sitters.
