About this assignment

We need someone that loves isolation in the Australian bush, understands off-grid living, loves dogs and native animals that have been rescued and are being cared for with a view to returning to the bush.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keeping our miniature schnauzer safe and happy.
Caring for an orphaned baby kangaroos.
Monitoring water tank levels and solar system.
Using pump to pump water up from river as needed.
Use a generator when solar power is low.
Use water tanker if needed to water plants.
Communicate regularly via email, or various electronic media.
Will need Telstra sim card.
Own vehicle essential.

What are the good features of the property and location

Close to ski fields.
Property has 250 metres of Murrumbidgee River frontage perfect for trout fishing.
Close to Kosciuszko National Park and Namadgi National Park with great hiking and mountain biking.
Abundant wildlife and district views. 144 acres to explore on foot.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The property is 14ks from the nearest town, Adaminaby.
Mechanical knowledge essential to run pumps and generators.
Animals need feeding 2 times a day so only day trips will be possible in terms of hiking etc.
You will need your own car as ours will be out of state.
Regular communication with us is essential, every 2-3 days via email or other technology.
