Our cats are very healthy and well but eat wet food (grain free). This means that they cannot be left for more than 12 hours. They are very friendly and affectionate and love to interact with humans

About this assignment
A cat lover who is also tidy and responsible. Ideally would be able to drive although there is a bus service to the local town that stops just outside our gate 7 times per day.
Our house and garden are not suitable for small children
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Look after two Burmese cats (feeding, litter tray, be loved) and keep the house clean and tidy.
In terms of the cats' care, we would expect that they would not be left alone for more than 12 hours.
What are the good features of the property and location
A comfortable, spacious, modern house which is uncluttered and easy to maintain. The house has underfloor heating throughout, supplied by an air to water heat pump. In addition, there is a wood burning stove for any necessary top-ups. There is a large garden which is in development!
The surrounding countryside is very attractive - hills, lakes, woodland and historic sites. By car, Dublin is an hour away, Galway and Sligo an hour and forty minutes. There are also good rail and bus links to Dublin and Sligo from the local town. Internet is more than adequate for work.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are looking for a sitter(s) from 17th January to 19th February. Ideally, the sitter would be able to drive as we live 7 km from our local town.
My car is available and I am happy to add a named driver to my insurance policy provided that they meet the insurance company's criteria.
Can I bring my own pets?

Cosy Cats
We were cat sitting for Moira and Owen in October 21 for 2 weeks. They are very welcoming hosts, who gave us detailed info on their wonderful house, along with a list of interesting places to see in the area. Rus and Mila, the Burmese cats are a delight and we miss them already. The Mullingar area has lots of historic sites and beautiful scenery. Owen introduced us to their local walking group, who we enjoyed meeting. We had a wonderful stay and would always love to return.

An Irish welcome.
Moira and Owen were charming, and provided a welcome only the Irish can give, including homemade cake and a tour of the town :) They have a beautiful modern and stylish house with all mod cons and 2 delightful chatty Burmese cats. We would be more than happy to sit for them again, anytime. It was a total pleasure.

Fantastic sit - Best cats ever!
We can’t say too many good things about this sit. Moira and Owen are kind, thoughtful and generous hosts. Their beautiful home is well-equipped and immaculately clean. They were great communicators, before, during and after the sit. Their Burmese cats, Rus & Mila, are incredibly loving and a joy to be around. The nearby town has anything you could want, food, culture and good Irish craic. We would be delighted to sit for them again any time they ask.
