About this assignment

We are looking for someone/ a couple to house-sit for us while we take a long-earned break in October

We have two dogs, both very friendly and low maintenance, as 3 adult cats, one old (2 x 7 years and one about 2 years). They are again low maintenance.

This is a beautiful part of the world and would be ideal for the right person/couple.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To ensure the animals are fed and have company
To ensure the house is occupied at night
To guard any mail that arrives at the property.
Keep the property clean

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is over 150 years old win a small hamlet near the town of Carennac in the Lot. While it’s a small village we have major supermarkets within 15 mins drive. A car will be available also.

We’ve major rail stations within 30 mins drive in Brive ir Souillac (Paris Toulouse line) Or Bordeaux line from Brive and Rodez.

We’ll happily collect and cover reasonable travel costs including flights to either Brive from London. Or Limoges or Toulouse. - both 2 hours away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Moderate English or good French
Be happy with animals and be able to meet their needs.
Have a car, as this is a rural village and the nearest (small) shop is 3km away and larger ones are 10km, or if not we can collect but you will need to be a driver with an international or valid drivers licence for France.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Highly recommended!

My partner and I had the pleasure of care-taking La Petite Auberge during the autumn of 2019 - a really wonderful experience & something to definitely be recommended. Gerry & Gerard had prepared the house so wonderfully well that we took up our duties with ease and pleasure! The location of this wonderful gem is second to none. The village is stunningly charming and the surrounds offer a host of amazing sights. Again Gerry & Gerard gave us tonnes of hints and tips which made our stay more like a holiday and certainly a 'home from home'. Definitely will be returning and would be very happy to recommend to any other lucky visitors!
