There are no pets to look after
Looking for a responsible and reliable house sitter to spend the winter (December 8-April 1) in my historic Oregon City home (the end of the Oregon Trail!). No pets.
Water indoor plants.
Keep house in the same condition you found it in.
Bring in mail.
Stay in communication - let me know if any problem arises.
Small but cozy and cute home in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. Only a 15-minute walk down a (steep) hill to Oregon City's Main Street and all the shops and restaurants and museums it has to offer.
Winters in Oregon are rainy and not overly cold, but I do want someone here to make sure the pipes don't freeze if it does get cold. No guests without prior approval.
Due to Oregon City's steep hills, a car is highly recommended.
No, sorry.

Sweet kitty with great parents!
Mendocina's parents sent me wonderful instructions and tips. They were very prepared for me to live there, their wifi is good, and they were great about communicating while on vacation. Miss Mendo is the sweetest little lady!

Quaint comfortable home
I enjoyed my stay at Rebecca's place. Her kitty is adorable, and friendly. Her home is neat and comfortable. Oregon city is a cute little town with nice shops, and plenty of history to explore. Loved the food carts and brew pub downtown. Rebecca is very responsive to communication, and a pleasure to sit for. I would definitely sit for her again.

Rebecca and Mendo
After our FaceTime conversation with Rebecca we felt like old familiar friends, with similar experiences, and travel stories. So when we arrived one day early she reassured us, and helped us by arranging an overnight stay with a friend. We were excited to meet her and Mendo. She gave us great info, and left great instructions. Her place was sunny, bright, private and reminded us of European style apartment. Mendo is a sweet older kitty with beautiful eyes. She loved to sun herself, play with her tunnel, and occasionally sleep at the foot of the bed. Bainbridge has wonderful trails for short or long walks, the downtown area is really charming. It’s a very artistic area also, with a great free museum close by. We were gifted a signed copy of her most recent book which I have been enjoying on our travels. We look forward to our continued friendship with Rebecca and hope to visit again in the future.
