About this assignment
I need someone to look after Tomi from September 28 to October 4 as I'll be away abroad. Looking for someone who genuinely loves cats and knows how to care for them. Clean, considerate, and a non-smoker. Ideally, you’re well-traveled, easygoing, and used to adapting to new spaces with care. I’m looking for a cat and house sitter who will treat my home like their own, keep things tidy, feed my cat, and offer him the affection and cuddles he’ll miss while I’m away. Tomi is super friendly and absolutely love attention and cuddles.
My other cat, his sister, recently passed away. Tomi is still grieving the loss of his sister and adjusting to spending time alone, which he had never experienced before. He’s more anxious than usual at the moment, so he really needs plenty of presence, cuddles, reassurance, care, and playtime.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feed Tomi every day, keep his water fresh, scoop his litter daily, water the plants, and keep the house tidy, vacuum every few days to get rid of cat hair.
What are the good features of the property and location
The apartment is a cozy and bright two-bedroom (55m²) on the third floor of a charming 1950s building. It features a small balcony — perfect for morning coffee or sunset wine. There is no elevator.
Located just a 30-minute walk from the beach, the old town, and the castle, it’s ideally placed to enjoy the best of the city. You’ll find everything you need right around the corner: bakeries, cafés, great restaurants, and even hiking trails nearby for a nature fix.
Fast wifi, easy access by train or tram from Nice airport, and a tram stop just steps away — you'll be in the city center in 10 minutes.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Must arrive on September 28, preferably in the evening - (I leave the house at 4:30 am the next day to get a flight) and be available the entire stay, until October 4.
I have a guest room where you'll be staying.
I am a native French speaker and speak English fluently.
Some previous sitter testimonies refer to our previous places in Amsterdam and Lisbon (we moved a lot :)). They also refer to Rosie, who recently passed away.

Ses deux chats sont incroyablement fraternels et calins, c'était un régal a observer chaque jour. Lovely stay with two cute cats in a beautiful city
This was our second time looking after the sweet cats Tomi and Rosie after 5 years. Tomi has been very friendly from the beginning. Rosie was a bit closed off at first, but once she opened up, she became very adorable and cuddly. Solenne was open and understanding, and whenever we had a question she answered right away. Solenne's flat faces a nice park, and we enjoyed the view of the mountains and cityscape from the window. The city center is easily accessible by tram or bus as well. Not only Nice, but the blue sea of the Cote d'Azur and the small villages were so beautiful, and it was a wonderful stay. We totally enjoyed our stay at beautiful city with Tomi and Rosie. We would be pleased to come back and recommend this cat sitting. Thank you Solenne!

French riviera ( Menton)
Since Solenne contacted us, we knew we were very lucky to be selected for this special place. We were greeted with a delicious meal and a warm welcome! Solenne gave us detailed instructions and information but also loads of freedom to enjoy this beautiful area and all it has to offer. The flat is really nice, well equipped and tidy with a big beautiful balcony. Rosie and Tomi are the most adorable, cute and loving cats we have ever met. Rosie is more independent, while Tomi looks for cuddles more often. He warmed up to us immediately, while Rosie spent a night on her own on the sofa before deciding we could be her friends. We enjoyed greatly our "kitty time" with brushings, playing and lots of stroking. We also enjoyed visiting the area that has a lot to offer. We are tryly grateful to Solenne who gave us the opportunity to enjoy this experience. Thank you Solenne! 🌸

Such sweet cats! Lovely owner!
Rosie and Toomie are adorable cats, sweet and gentle, loved being outdoors and chilling, being brushed and were always genial. Solenne was wonderful with directions in me getting to Carnoles AND made a lovely lunch for my arrival. Very experienced at giving clear directions and a tour of the property (such as where garbage goes, also local grocery shopping). You would be lucky to be selected for a sit.

Lovely catsitting at Solenne's place
I had the pleasure of taking care of Solenne's furry babies, Tomi and Rosie, for 10 days in Carnolès (French Riviera). It was an amazing experience! Tomi and Rosie are the cutest cats ever, they're friendly and sweet. From the first day, we could have playtime together. They also loved being groomed and stroked every day. Really lovely companions :) Also, the apartment has a large balcony and is close to basic amenities (bakery, supermarket, butchery...). It is also 2 min away from the closest beach!! From there, it's possible to travel to Italy, Monaco and other coastal towns. It's an ideal location for those who'd like to visit around. And Solenne takes time to give you recommendations if you need them. Besides, she has an automatic feeder for the cats so you won't need to take care of it, which is perfect if you'd want to be off a whole afternoon.

Wonderful Cote d’Azur Experience
I had a wonderful time in the beautiful small town of Roquebrune Cap Martin. Solenne was a wonderful host, was very prepared with clear instructions for the apartment and the cats. Both cats were very sweet and loving, and were great company. Of course the French Riviera is beautiful, and it’s very easy to take a quick day trip to the surrounding towns. I was very lucky and had wonderful weather the whole time I was there. Solenne was extremely responsive to any messages, and very friendly. I would highly recommend doing a sit for Solenne and caring for Rosie and Tomi.

This was my first pet sit with MindMyHouse and I couldn't have been luckier with the cats (Rosie and Tomi) and the owners (Solenne and Robbie). Robbie welcomed me and provided some great suggestions about places nearby for yummy meals. I met Solenne when they returned from their trip and we all had dinner together. They were super kind, let me stay the night of their arrival (so I could leave the next morning to Sintra) and even brought me a jar of French honey as a gift! The cats, Rosie and Tomi, are adorable and easy to care for. They were great company while I was working on my laptop and would welcome me affectionately if I went out when returning home. They are the sweetest! Solenne's and Robbie's apartment is modern and within walking distance to many tourist places in Lisbon and very close to one of the stops of the famous 28 tram. This was the only transport I used a few times as the city is quite hilly (which is great for your legs). In summary, it was an amazing pet sitting experience: 10 out of 10. I am very grateful to Solenne and Robbie for their trust and kindness and would be more than happy to take care of Rosie and Tomi again if the dates aligned.

Wonderful Visit!
We really appreciated the opportunity to stay and get to know Tomi and Rosie. What an entertaining brother and sister duo! They are very beautiful and sweet! Although they were spoken to in French, they understood us and enjoyed being loved up, chasing after their feather toys, unlimited pet sessions and their occasional special treats. Solenne was so supportive of us, especially upon our arrival to Lisbon. She was very compassionate, and extremely helpful. She prepared a wonderful meal and gave us a sweet holiday gift. We got to spend time with Robbie when he returned home, and we enjoyed our conversation over homemade spaghetti dinner. Cooking was a joy there. The Grocery store was within short distance. The location was ideal for transit and local parks. It was a walkable neighborhood and easy to catch transportation to and from their home. Lisbon was very interesting and we were fortunate to have some sunny days during the winter holiday. We learned a lot about the culture. We would highly recommend a sit for Solenne, Robbie, Tomi and Rosie. We wish them all the best!!! : )))

Two cats in Lisbon
We were house sitters for Solenne and Robbie for 12 days, Christmas and New Year 2021/2022. When we arrived at their flat in Lapa, Lisbon, we had a warm welcome by them and the cats Rosie and Tomi. Everything was arranged for us to easily care for the cats and the flat. Rosie was on a diabetes diet managed by an automatic feeder and Tomi required wet food. The cats were social, playful and slept in our bed at night. The neigbourhood in Lapa has a small supermercado, "Pingo Doce", and several cafés, restaurants and smaller shops within walking distance. Because of the Covid pandemi we avoided public transport but walked a lot in the often narrow and steep streets. We would have loved to take the tram to the city center but instead we walked there and had a fish lunch at the harbour square Praça do Comércio We gladly recommend house sitting at Solenne's and Robbie's home in Lapa.

Amazing housesit in Amsterdam with Rosie and Tomi
We couldn't wish for a better place to start our house sitting journey. Solenne and her partner greeted us on our arrival, gave us a brief instruction on where to find everything in the area, especially where to park the car :). They also prepared a welcome dinner, and we discussed everything regarding our duties during their absence. Rosie and Tomi, their two cats, are absolutely gorgeous, and you can only love them. It didn't take much time to get used to each other, so we had an outstanding two weeks of taking care of them. The two furballs enjoyed theirselves in the backyard of the building complex. The only came in when they were hungry, needed a nap or wanted to cuddled :) The apartment in Amsterdam was fantastic, equipped with everything you need in a quite neighborhood. Shops, bars, restaurants, and supermarkets are all in walking distance. Even walking to the center of the city is possible in less than 30 minutes. Pia and I are so grateful and would like to thank you again for giving us the opportunity to stay at your place and taking care of Rosie and Tomi. We wish you best of luck for your moving to Lisbon, and would love to be your house sitters again in the near future.

Kerst in Amsterdam
10 dagen hebben wij in Amsterdam op kat Tomi en poes Rosie, in de buurt, waar ik geboren ben en waar mijn roots liggen. Solenne en Robbie wilden heel graag hun familie in het buitenland bezoeken en door de Corona liep het allemaal niet helemaal, zoals gepland... Omdat wij de enigen uit Nederland waren, die reageerden en de beste opties hadden om te komen, heeft Solenne ons uitgenodigd. Door treinwijziging hebben we elkaar niet kunnen ontmoeten, maar daarom maar video-chat. Wij hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad, ondanks Corona, zijn in kontakt met Solenne en Robbie gebleven via Whatsapp en hebben Amsterdam via de door hun ter beschikking gestelde fietsen kunnen bekijken. Om de hoek het Vondelpark, mijn ouderlijk huis en iets verder mijn scholen. Heerlijk, om dat allemaal weer even te zien. Voor het eten van Rosie en Tomi hebben ze een voerautomaat voor brokjes, dat was dus makkelijk, pate 's morgens uit een blikje. Rosie kwam vaak 's nachts op bed liggen, Tomi soms onder het bed, soms bij de buren. Rosie is heel aanhankelijk , Tomi dus niet, althans niet bij ons. Ook bij terugkeer van Solenne hebben we haar niet ontmoet door gewijzigde aankomsttijden. Wij waren toen op Kerstbezoek bij familie en daarvandaan weer huiswaarts. Bedankt, Solenne (en Robbie) voor de gastvrijheid . We hebben toch nog onverwacht, Kerst in Amsterdam kunnen vieren met familiebezoek.

A week in Amsterdam
We spend a week in Amsterdam during August 2020 and took care for Rosie and Tomi, the cats of Solenne and her boyfriend. We experienced a warm welcome, had dinner and talked everything through. They left detailed instructions, answered all questions we had and kept in contact during the housesit. The cats are easy going and like to cuddle. They like to sleep in your bed (which we think is awesome), bring you some moths as gifts and spend a lot of time outside, strolling through the backyard. The flat is spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need. You can easily walk to the city center through the Vondelpark, rent a bike nearby or hop on public transport only a few meters from the flat. We visited a lot of the surrounding landmarks, sights and museums and had a really great time in the Netherlands. We can only talk in a positive way about the hosts, the home, the animals or the city. 10/10 would sit again. Tes and Lothar

Pleasant time with sweet cats
Solenne & Robbie are very friendly and helpful, they answered quickly, if we had any questions. They have 2 very different, cute cats, Rosie and Tomi. We spent a very pleasant time with both cats and miss them already. We would love to cat-sit them again. The apartment is a bit outside the old town but we liked the location very well.There is a big beautiful park and canal nearby. Through the park you can reach the city on foot. If you don't like to walk, you can also take the tram directly to the city and you're there in no time. There are also many cafés and bars nearby. Since there are almost no tourists, we felt like locals! That was our first pet sitting. We really enjoyed the experience and we would like to continue pet sitting. Thank you!!
