Sitter wanted - The future of "Off Grid" living

About this assignment

Our property will need to be house sat for a number of years Long term house sit required (6 months or longer). Our ideal sitters would have a sympathetic approach and understanding of the living environment in terms of how the property functions in relation to "off grid" living. Isolation may be an issue for some as the house is located in a rural area approximately 5 kilometers from the nearest town, with access via a rural track. Sitters with a "hands on approach" and with previous experience of this type of property would be most suited. Reliability is key.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Maintaining salt level in the domestic water treatment unit, filter change (salt and filters will be provided)
Maintain the swiming pool (6 meres x 3 metres) (if used/required) chlorine, water treatment. filtration pump operation and clean
Change butane gas bottles as and when required
Collect mail from the local post office- once a week

What are the good features of the property and location

A new build modern eco home located on the edge of natural park of sierra of Cardena and Montoro. The property sits within 8 hectare of olive grove overlooking the Guadalquivir river and is fenced and gated. Located 5 kilometers from in the historic town of Montoro, consisting of typical Spanish bars, restaurants and shops with numerous festivals taking place throughout the year. Montoro has plenty to offer and boasts an outdoor Olympic size swimming pool and indoor pool for the cooler months with numerous rural walks and nature trails. There is also a 24/7 medical center. Cordoba is 38 kilometers away home of the great mosque a number of other heritage sites and stunning restaurants.
Our property is made up of two homes with the main house consists of a four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a combined kitchen dinner and lounge area, there is a large terrace at the front of the property with a swimming pool at the rear. Attached to the main house is a two bedroom ground floor apartment to be occupied by the house sitters. There is also a large double garage and workshop adjacent
The apartment relies on a solar system for electricity with a diesel generator providing back up electricity should the need arise. A bore hole for fresh water, the water is pumped to a storage tank which in turn provides gravity fed water to both properties. Heating is provided by a wood burner in the living area the apartment is fully furnished and central heated via butane heating and domestic hot water boiler. An air conditioning unit is located in the apartments living area. In the event of a fault or breakdown technical support and repair is provided by the relevant third party. The apartment also has a small graveled garden area and WiFi. All sitters will be provided with an on site "hand over" by the owners(located in England) as well as comprehensive written instructions. In addition to which we can be contacted 24/7.
