About this assignment

We are looking for a house sitter(s) who enjoys spending time in a rural setting by the water; enjoys nature, respects energetic young animals; and cherishes peace and quiet. The sitter needs to be responsible; an animal lover; respect nature, and self- sufficient.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibilities are: caring for our animal family and relaxing on a 2-acre private, wooded property, overlooking our saltwater cove. Regular upkeep of our home is expected.https://www.mindmyhouse.com/owners/listing_delete

What are the good features of the property and location

Our home is located in a small, historic coastal village in mid-coast Maine. There are 2-wooded acres with invisible fencing for our 2 English Setters. There is neighborhood access to our cove via a shared dock. Our home has 8-rooms, as well as a separate guest suite with its own bathroom and shower, on the lower level. The village community welcomes many summer residents who enjoying sailing, boating, hiking, and relaxing in the beauty of the Blue Hill Peninsula. Some of the summer residents have enjoyed our town for generations. Our dutch bicycles and plastic kayaks are available for your use while here.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The summer population of the village is about 1400. There are a couple of convenience stores, and the nearest supermarket is 15- miles away. More specifically, our historic village is a destination, and not one that is usually explored as a matter of happenstance. People arrive here because they have chosen to drive the scenic coastal route along the Northern Bay in Penobscot.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Sweet and Easy Pets / Beautiful Home & Community

David and Karen have 2 lovely dogs that love snuggles and a fluffy cat who's likes to be pet but also enjoys her alone time. :) The three of them are incredibly independent as they all use the dog door to come and go as they please. The two English setters are certainly independent, however they are besties and are almost never without the other. The house is beautifully situated on water and has a nice wooded are surrounding it. The surroundings are peaceful and the house is quite cozy. And the town.... it's the same... peaceful with a cozy feel. I'd recommend David and Karen's home to everyone!
