2 Cats & a 300 year old farm house

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keep that cats fed, safe and happy...Water the plants in the poly tunnel that look thirsty, will need doing even if raining outside. Cut the grass if it get’s bothersome. Pick and eat and fruits, berries and salads as they become available.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our house is located midway between Cork and Killarney (centres of both are approx 30 minutes away) The town of Kenmare is also around 30 minutes away. Train station (to Killarney and Dublin) is about 20 minutes away. We are 5km west of Macroom (a busy market town with a market, supermarkets, cinema, theatre, cafes, shops, library) on the outskirts of the village of Clondrohid. 
The house and large garden are surrounded by farmland with views across to the mountains that form the Cork/Kerry border. The village shop/post office and two pubs are within 10 minutes walk.
The house is 300 years old and full of character. The hot water in the summer is from Solar panels and a wood burning range at other times. A wood burning stove, is in place for cosy evenings in the sitting room. 

Cooking on the wood burning range is possible but for summer months an electric hob and oven are also available.
If you'd like to bring children that's no problem. We have two sixteen year old boys and the garden is designed to keep them entertained. 
The cats needs love and company, basically a lap 24/7 would suit them nicely.
The gardens is about 1 3/4 acres of mature trees, grass area and small stream and pond. You can walk from the house to clondrohid village without a requirement to go on the road.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

It is an old house and some of the door frames are low.

Please Note that we do not have a television. We do have good broadband, which you can use to stream "tv", this is available throughout house and parts of the garden.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
