We’d love a reliable, animal-loving individual or couple who:
• Has experience with dogs, cats, and chickens
• Is comfortable roaming freely around a rural property
• Values cleanliness, communication, and respect for someone else’s home
• Enjoys nature, simple living, and living “off the beaten track” for an extended period
• Holds a valid driver’s license (or can arrange an electric bike), since you’ll need a vehicle to run errands
• Dog care: Our 5-year-old German Shepherd mix (very relaxed and friendly) needs two 1-hour walks in the woods behind the house each day, plus cuddles and companionship.
• Cat care: A brother-and-sister pair (1 year old) roam in and around the house - daily feeding, fresh water, and plenty of hugs!
• Chicken care: Ten laying hens require a daily feeding, water change, and egg collection (enjoy them—they’re delicious!).
• Watering the veggie garden and picking up ripe vegetables (eat as much as you can - they’re organic)
• General home checks: Bring in mail, water any pots as needed, and notify us of any maintenance issues.
• Exclusive guest apartment: Spacious living room, large bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a kitchenette—your private home-away-from-home.
• Permaculture paradise: Harvest fresh fruits & vegetables straight from the garden.
• Wellness amenities: Wood-burning sauna, indoor gym, outdoor calisthenics rig & bouldering wall.
• High-speed fiber internet: Perfect for streaming, remote work, or staying in touch.
• Rural tranquillity: Panoramic mountain views, pine forests, and immediate access to hiking trails.
• Convenience: We can arrange to rent our car or you’re welcome to bring your own—nearest bus stop and village are 5 km up the road.
• Vehicle needed: All errands (groceries, vet visits, etc.) require a car or electric bike - public transport isn’t practical.
• Rural setting: You’ll be living in a quiet, mountainous finca - perfect for solitude and nature-lovers, but not for those seeking an urban buzz.
• Long-term stay: The assignment is 70 days (last week of September through first week of December). We need someone who can commit to the full term.
• Self-sufficiency: You’ll have everything you need on-site, but you should be comfortable handling basic home-and-animal care independently.
No, sorry.
