About this assignment

An animal lover! Responsible, experienced with donkeys, goats, and chickens. Experienced with gardening and watering plants inside and out. Someone who enjoys being out in the country. Someone capable of loading animals if there was need for evacuation.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Letting the chickens and goats out in the morning. Feeding the goats (3) and donkeys (2) hay in the morning. In the evening, gathering eggs, locking up the chickens (8), feeding the goats and locking them up, feeding the donkeys hay. Keeping the chicken feeder full, and making sure all the animals always have water. Harvesting veggies from the garden for your own consumption. Hand watering plants in front of the house.

What are the good features of the property and location

I live at the end of private lane, with 4 very responsible and generous neighbors, but we're all on at least 5 acres, so it is very private. My house is nice, but not fancy. I have deck to enjoy the evening sunsets.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

I live in an area where is potential for wildfire (like most of California) so if there was a dangerous fire, the animals would need to be evacuated. I have a horse trailer that the donkeys can fit in and the goats can fit in the tack portion. Chickens can be put in a dog crate. I have a small truck for pulling. Having said that, if it did happen, there are neighbors to help get animals loaded.
