About this assignment

My wife and I are looking for a reliable individual or couple to stay in our mountain home over Christmas to take care of our loveable rescue dog Juno while we go away for a brief backcountry skiing adventure.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Your primary responsibility is taking care of Juno, feeding and walking her mostly. Also tend to minor housekeeping so our home is in the same condition when we return.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our cozy timber frame home is set in a fabulous location at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden, British Columbia. It features true ski-in and ski-out convenience. From the front door you can ski directly to the gondola and get whisked to the mountain top. At lunchtime and the end of the day you can ski straight to our back door. If you prefer cross-country skiing, machine-set tracks are nearby that lead to the Nordic Centre chalet with its 30 kilometres of groomed trails. For nighttime entertainment you can simply walk to the resort’s restaurants and pubs. After arriving you won’t need your car at all. Celebrate an unforgettable Christmas in a true winter wonderland.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

There's only limited public transportation available at the resort so a car is required if you want to go to Golden 13km away.

Juno needs to be walked 3 or 4 times each day and we don’t want her left home alone for more than four or five hours at a time. Being a rescue dog she has a strong prey drive and must be walked on leash otherwise she’s a flight risk if she picks up the scent of wildlife.

No smokers please.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
