About this assignment

I am a Dutch woman living on the Hungarian puszta, and I am looking for someone (or a couple) who loves animals, who will be respectful to my place and who will appreciate and enjoy being at this beautiful place in nature with a lot of space, stillness and good energy!

Next sit: I will need someone in November 2024 for appr 2,5 weeks (dates can be flexible), There might be a possibility to come earlier or stay longer if that fits your plans and mine :) and stay in my guesthouse! UPDATE - FOUND A GREAT SITTER FOR NOVEMBER!

I will need a housesitter on a regular base. So someone from Europe who would love to come here every now and then for 1 to 3 weeks, would be great!!

I have done international housesitting myself and I have also been a workaway host since 2021 - love the concept of sharing and exchanging without any money involved, and all the beautiful people I got to meet!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Be a companion to and taking care of my dog Barát (8) and cat Kléo (2) by feeding, cuddling and walking with them, cleaning after them. Being present at the property to watch over the house and garden (ofcourse you don't have to be there 24/7, the animals can be alone for a few hours a day (max 6) every now and then...)

Keeping me informed every now and then.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house and land (1,3 hectare) is located in the middle of the puszta, surrounded by sand dunes and forests, a great walking area. No main roads for kilometers, you reach the place through a sand road from 2,3 km. It is incredibly silent here especially during winter season and no light pollution so the sky at night is wonderful. Lots of wild animals to watch (deer, foxes, birds...). The place has an absolute special energy, which helps you to slow down and feel really grounded. There is clean and tasteful drinking water pumped up from the ground.

You will (probably) be sleeping in the small but cosy apartment/guesthouse attached to the main house (see photos) and can freely use a big part of my house to spent your time.

I use my land during summertime to run a small scale camping, but in wintertime all the land is mine/yours to enjoy!

There is a good working internet connection so remote working is possible.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Since I live quite remote, you need to have your own (or rented) car to get supplies and for emergencies etc. The only way to get here is a 2,3 km dirt/sand road.
You have to be okay with being on your own, but I have very friendly and helpful neighbors (also dutch) who can assist when necessary.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
