About this assignment

We're currently working overseas and, unfortunately, aren't able to return home during this time, so we're looking for someone who would enjoy staying in our home and giving it a little TLC while we're away.

The home doesn't have any pets, so your main responsibilities would be keeping an eye on the house and caring for our indoor plants and garden.
We're hoping to find someone who is responsible and enjoys caring for a home as if it were their own. Good communication is important to us, and we'd love occasional updates just to know everything is going well.
The dates are somewhat flexible, so if you're interested but need a little flexibility, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd be happy to chat and answer any questions.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The primary responsibility is to care for the garden and indoor plants. Help me identify any maintenance or repair needs for the house and garden.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house has been recently renovated, it has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, a large kitchen, dining, and living room. It has a large yard consisting of a terrace and garden. The house is in a small village with some nice restaurants and shops.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

While it's easy to walk to most places in the village, the larger grocery stores and some other amenities are located outside the village. For that reason, having a car is recommended to make getting around more convenient.

We're especially hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys gardening and has experience caring for plants and maintaining a home.

One thing to note is that one of our bathrooms is currently out of service. We plan to repair it when we return, so during your stay the home will have one fully functioning bathroom. We just wanted to mention this upfront so there are no surprises.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Perfect sit next to Yokohama with Buddy & Ms. Blue

We had a wonderful time looking after Robin & Kevin's home and their two lovely furballs Buddy and Ms Blue while they were away. Their home is just outside Yokohama, on a hill (60 steps to the entrance) and close to public transport (Negishi line) and a well stocked supermarket. After getting used to each other, we had an incredible time with the two cats. Blue became a lap cat from day one and was always asking to be petted. Buddy sometimes had his 5 wild minutes running around the house, but it was always fun to watch, and he also followed us every step. Both cats were easy to care for and gave so much love in return. We already miss them, and we hope to see each other again. You could easily leave them alone during the day to explore Yokohama or Tokyo (only a 50 min train ride) and come back at night to give them your love and attention. We were more than happy to have had the opportunity to care for them and would love to see and care for them again at any time in the future.
