About this assignment

We are looking for a quiet, non-smoker who loves dogs to care for our sweet 4 year old English bulldog, Rosie (she's on instagram @rosiepicklepants), while we are abroad for 3 weeks this summer.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feeding, walking and petting the dog; giving the dog daily medicine (2 allergy pills that she readily accepts in a piece of cheese or other snack). Possibly bathing the dog in the outdoor shower, if she needs it. Generally keeping the house tidy and looked after. Bringing in the mail and packages.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our house is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood (the Pink Streets: https://issuu.com/greenbenchmonthly/docs/12-18_gb_monthly__001) in St. Petersburg, Florida). Our home is 4 houses away from a beautiful waterfront park (https://www.stpeteparksrec.org/parks___facilities/katherine_tippetts_park.php) and we are 10 minutes from downtown St. Pete and the beautiful Gulf beaches. Our home is a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom, 2,500 sq ft home, that was completely remodeled in 2015 and includes a spacious backyard with a pool and an outdoor shower. We also have a screened lanai. We have several kayaks, bikes, and paddleboards you are welcome to use. St. Petersburg is consistently voted one of the best vacation destinations in the U.S. and has a lively arts scene and walkable downtown.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

They must be comfortable with dogs - familiarity with English bulldogs a plus! Rosie is very sensitive to the heat, so she would need to be walked early in the morning or after dark. You must be sturdy/strong enough to manage a 54lb dog that can pull at her leash (she loves a squirrel) on a walk. Our neighbors will assist with maintaining the pool.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Franks was a charmer!

This was my first connection on MindMyHouse and it was a huge success! Franks was adorable and easy---he's a chill dog and though he can be stubborn, he's always cute about it! We took daily walks in the neighborhood and my guest area of the house was super comfortable and well appointed. Erin & Michel were great communicators throughout the assignment and I instantly felt like a part of their family! I highly recommend this house & sitting for Franks.
