About this assignment
I'm looking for someone who loves kitties, will play with and snuggle them. Non-smoker a must. I take pride in my cozy home and hope you will love it and enjoy keeping it feeling happy :)
I just moved to Bend in the summer of 2025, so my previous testimonials on MMH are from previous homes, some with previous pets.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The kitties are easy -- they are indoor-outdoor with a cat door that automatically locks and night and opens in morning (and only opens for them thanks to smart tech so no other animals can enter the home) Their litter use is minimal, so cleaning up is simple. They need food, water, litter, play, snuggles in front of the TV. Additional details -- get the mail, set the trash out on trash day, water plants. Keep in touch with me while I'm gone to give me reports.
The kitties are Alice (girl, black and brown tabby, 8yrs) Falcon (boy, gray tabby, 5) and Archie (boy, medium hair snowshoe, senior). They are all very friendly (though Falcon is shy and scared of new people at first) and they are well behaved.
What are the good features of the property and location
My home is located in what many consider to be one of the best locations in Bend, in the river west community. It's a short walk to shops, restaurants, a music venue, and a 15 minutes walk to McKay park by the river. You can walk to the Old Mill district in 30 minutes, downtown in 30 minutes, and if you need a car to use (for non snowy travel), I can provide that. If you have your own vehicle and plan to ski or visit lakes, I'm right at the start of the Cascade Lakes Highway to get out to Mt. Bachelor, the snow parks for cross country skiing, and other great features.
My home has a big guest room for you with a cozy king bed, blackout curtains, and a separate guest bathroom all your own. There is filtered water to drink at the kitchen sink, and Bend water is good quality to shower and bathe in. The back yard is private and beautiful, off street parking in the driveway, and a newly remodeled kitchen for you to enjoy.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
I do a shoes-off house, so slippers are good to bring. I have an aversion to synthetic scents so please no perfume in the house. Always a good idea to bring your favorite pillow! :)
I am waiting to get my plane ticket until I get my sitter. The dates could shorten to fit you better -- morning of June 10 to the evening of June 12.

Nicole is very generous and welcoming, and she anticipates your every need. Before you arrive, she sends videos to orient you to her home and the kitties’ care. The videos introduce you to her, to where to find things, and how to provide for the unique needs of her three kitties. When you arrive, you discover that Nicole not only provides exquisite care for her kitties but also for the planet and you. Organic and planet-friendly products are everywhere. Guest cupboards and drawers are marked with content indexes, and light fixtures are all marked to indicate proper operations. There is a very thorough outline of the kitties' schedules and household operations. And, there is a delightful folder of beach activities complete with a Pacific Coast Pass to defray the cost of your coastal adventures. During your stay, Nicole makes herself available by phone and text to answer any questions and ensure you are comfortable. I felt so relaxed in her cozy and well-appointed home with her adorable kitties that Nicole had to remind me to go out and enjoy the sites.

Thorough, clear, kind
Nicole clearly and thoroughly outlined the needs of her cats and expectations for taking care of house details. She had a manual, made various videos, and provided written instructions for me. She was appreciative of my texts, videos, and photos, and she suggested a great mode of communication (Marco Polo). Plus, she provided a folder with local activities, resources, and restaurants. As a first time sitter, I felt very comfortable taking care of her pets and place.

Love is in the sea air: a haven of feline affection
We’re so grateful to Nicole for entrusting us with the care of her amazing property and three incredible cats – we were touched by the warmth and love that radiated from every corner of her inviting home, and we were captivated by the gentle spirits of the cats. The house is impeccably maintained and more than just a dwelling; it is a sanctuary, decorated with stylish, personal touches and memories. We felt a deep sense of privilege to be able to share this space, even if only for a short time. The cats are clearly adored: their uniqueness and soft nature brought joy during our stay and kept us company we now miss. With Archie (the household’s latest member) as the unofficial guardian of the home we felt protected! He loves being brushed and all three melt into their cuddling spots as they’re being stroked. They also reveled in the freshness of their vacuumed outdoor beds, lounging on them in the sun, surrounded by beautiful trees... Nicole is so kind and accommodating: a fantastic home owner. She helped out with transport and tips, and provided detailed Polo videos with instructions we could refer to if needed. We will cherish the memories we made in Depoe Bay (which sits on a marvelous coast full of treasures to unwrap). Thank you again for everything.

Wonderful pe
Nicole is a very thoughtful host. She was very thorough in how to take care of her pets and we knew exactly what to expect before we got there. The cats have a few additional dietary needs than your average cat but nothing we couldn’t handle. They were great to hang around with. The house is immaculately clean and very comfortable to stay in, with a nice backyard. Communication was great and the location on the coast is just lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to pet/house sit again!

Great Depoe Bay House Sit
I just finished up an almost three week house sit for Nicole, having the great companionship of three cats and six chickens. The animals are all very well behaved, friendly, easy to care for and have fun individual characters. Nicole's house - located a short walk to Depoe Bay and great whale watching - is very comfortable, clean, well-organized and well equipped. Nicole is extremely friendly and gracious. She gave me a thorough tour of her place and needed routines, left very clear and complete written information and was available while traveling to answer questions. There's much to explore in the area, many great places to eat and if you like gazing at the ocean, walking beaches and watching wildlife, this is a perfect place to do all those things. I totally enjoyed sitting for Nicole and would easily recommend it to others. I'd be very happy return another time - Nicole and her animals are great to sit for!

Very clear specific directions
Nicole’s pets are adorable and easy to care for and she has a lovely, tidy and relaxing home in a quiet and wooded location in lovely coastal Depoe Bay. Communication is great, especially via Marco Polo. Nicole is easy to get along with and understanding about routine challenges, arrival and departure protocols, etc. Great location and great pets!

Beautiful home, and homeowner!
I had three different assignments with this homeowner and found her to be an absolute gem. She is thorough with instructions and very flexible, the kitties where a pleasure to hang out with, and wonderful to cuddle with. Her home is well kept and comfortable, along with being close to the Pacific Ocean. Walking trails close by and a cute little town. She is so appreciative and generous that I couldn’t imagine a better person to sit for.
