About this assignment

First of all: We'd like to avoid GHG emissions as much as possible, therefore we'd prefer someone who is already located in Europe and will arrive by train/bus.

We're looking for person(s) (individuals, couples, or families with children above 6 yrs) who are reliable, careful, trustworthy, nature and animal loving, and treat nature's resources as well as our own stuff responsibly (no waste of water, energy or the like; thinking in terms of "resources" instead of in terms of waste)

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

1. Taking care of the cats (feeding twice, mornings and evenings, daily emptying of litter box, etc.)
2. Feeding three hedgehogs (wild animals that live in our garden but need to be fed due to scarcity of insects etc.) as well as the birds on a daily basis
3. Watering the garden, if necessary
4. Vacuuming ground floor (kitchen/sitting room) on daily basis, to remove the cats' hair

What are the good features of the property and location

1. Spacious, cozy house
2. Big, green, private, wild (!) town garden with hammock
3. Public transportation (bus) just around the corner
4. Town center of Munich (Marienplatz) only 20 Min. away by public transportation, lots of interesting sights and landscape (Isar, English Garden etc.)
5. Starnberger See can be reached within 20 min. by car or 40 min by public transportation; many other lakes (Ammersee, Wörthsee etc.) can also be reached within 1 hr.
6. The mountains (Alps etc.) can be reached within 1-1,5 hrs by car, train or bus
7. Bikes can be organized, if necessary (please inform us in advance)

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We're not "super design" and super fancy, but instead put a lot of emphasis on sustainability (refuse, reduce, repair, reuse, recycle etc.) and biodiversity - and you should like this, otherwise you will not feel comfortable here. This means, we expect you to put your biowaste in our Bokashi bucket, use as little water as possible, collect water for watering the garden etc. Any you should be prepared that our garden looks really wild because we want to provide a safe space for insects and other wild animals that have been expelled from overly clean and tidy private gardening habits.
