Thoughtful, cat loving carer ( for 8 year old Tiggy) who will enjoy a lovely small market town in the Welsh borders.
Someone who is tidy and will leave the house as they find it.
Feed the cat twice a day, give her a bit of fuss and make sure that she has water. Please also water the plants if it’s dry.
Cul-de-sac, quiet location, 2 minutes from high street, big garden area, picturesque, convenient, parking for 1 car. Smart Tv/Wi-Fi. Clean, spacious.
Lots of lovely walks from the town.
Town has a few cafes, restaurants, pubs and plenty of shops including a supermarket. There is often live music at the weekends.
The house and apartment are newly built/renovated so pictures to follow.
My wife has been taken into hospital and we are not sure how long it will be until we are able to return home. We would like someone who can do at least 3 weeks starting as soon as possible, but because the apartment is self contained we can be flexible with dates.
Public transport is limited, local bus to Hereford and into Wales.
This is a small market town so nightlife options are limited to restaurants or pubs.
No, sorry.
Testimonials
Thanks to Jim & Annie, we had the great privilege of taking care of a historically old, comfortable house and a lovely cat. The hosts provided us with information in a matter-of-fact manner at the moment of our arrival. The artistic decoration of the house gave us additional joy. The town of Kington itself is full of charm and meets our needs, and was also a great place to visit the beautiful surroundings.

Tiggy in Kington :)
This was a really great housesit in the town of Kington, a very beautiful part of England and only a stone's throw away from the border with Wales. I was there to look after Tiggy who greeted me as soon as I walked up the drive, rubbing herself against me and then flopping down on to the gravel being ever so affectionate! Although I was only there for three nights I consider that we bacame good friends. She is small and slender but has a lolly good appetite and doesn't stand on ceremony when confronted with a bowl full of her favourite food. The house was very confortable with an amazing stereo, plenty of records and CDs plus nippy broadband (65mbps on Ookla). It's just a short walk away from the shops with some nice cafes plus groceries too. I felt that it was like going back in time a little bit to maybe the 1960s or somesuch bygone era! Nearby there are many enjoyable walks plus a very lovely place called Hergest Croft with gardens and woodland. A really nice housesit, totally recommended!!

Herefordshire retreat
On our arrival Jim was very helpful and showed us everything, including clear written instructions and diagrams. The house designed and project managed built by Jim was such a pleasure to live in. The rooms were massive and the on-suite was 5* We took care of 4 hens, and Tiggy the cat we became friends within hours and she had free access to come and go through her access door. We could eat fresh eggs everyday and they were delicious. The garden was full of raspberries the size of my thumb, blackberries and wild strawberries and we ate from it every day. The location has been the best ever for us, only 25 minutes from Hereford and several other very interesting locations. The open views was fantastic with an uninterrupted 180deg of mountains in the distance. We woke up at in 1am one morning to see the night sky, never thought I’d see the milky way in the Northern hemisphere Thank you Jim and Annie for this great opportunity of enjoying and experiencing your wonderful big house. Did I mention the views and location.
