About this assignment

We would love someone that loves animals, and can be playful with them a bit. Can feed them on a semi-regular schedule. Someone mindful of both the animals, home and yard. Someone that can communicate efficiently and calmly what is going on while we are away. We'd love someone to touch bases with us, 1-2x week about any needs, how the animals are doing, how the yard is doing, treat our housekeeper, dog walker and yard person with the utmost kindness and respect when they come. Make sure the little compound is running smoothly.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Keeping up the house in between housekeeper visits. Feeding 2 Himalayan Blue Points (brothers: Poe and Daisy), and our old sweet Black Lab, Baker. Watching the yard to make sure everything looks good, if there are questions, to communicate with before something becomes a problem i.e., yard looking too dry (we can program the watering from wherever we are). Comb out the cats from time to time so their fur doesn't get matted.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are in a great location: close to Pasadena, Eagle Rock and York/Fig area of Highland Park. We have created a little sanctuary here, with a beautiful front and back yard, complete with a running swale (creek) and veg garden. Our big steel doors look out to a beautiful garden. It really feels like a retreat. We have super comfy beds, and a well-supplied kitchen, as I love to cook. It really is a special corner of Los Angeles.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We would love someone(s) with experience and will take care of of our home and animals treat them with care. The animals are quirky and all get a long...and all are food-centric (their breed), so we have to feed them on a schedule, and keep all food off counters, as the cats will find a way to get to it. Baker is a big lover, in his waining years. He is deaf and losing a bit of his mobility...but when the dog walker comes...he is a puppy again.
