About this assignment
We have a very nice semi detached house with a well kept garden in a quiet residential are in the village of Virginia Water. It is within 45 minutes train journey of central London and we are about 15 mins. walk from a mainline station and shops. We are also convenient for M25 and M4 motorways, Windsor, Hampton Court and various parks.
This house sit would suit Australian and New Zealanders coming for a long holiday and see the country as the house sit requires very little work.
The house is well maintained and runs trouble free. We have one double bedroom available for house sitters.
We would like a mature couple (55 +) who can look after our home like their own and maintain the lawn and garden. We have no pets to look after.
We would prefer the couple to enter into the simple House Sitters Agreement and provide references.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
We would like you to mow the lawn as required and generally keep the garden tidy. There is nothing else much to do, just look after the house!
What are the good features of the property and location
Our house is conveniently located within walking distance of neighbourhood shops, main line railway station for London. Access onto M25 and M3 motorways is within a few minutes drive. However it is a semi rural area being quiet and with easy access into the countryside.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We would like an experienced sitter with references and they must be a non smoker and bring no pets. Suitable for holiday makers from Australia and New Zealand.

A glorious month in outer London
What a wonderful house sit we've just had. The choice between relaxing and self catering in a lovely home, or exploring nearby pubs and eateries is the hardest decision you may have to make. We did lots of both. We discovered favorite pubs that we became regulars at, went to London for excursions and shows and did some trips down south to Portsmouth, Southampton and Isle of Wight. Apart from caring for the garden, which was a pleasant task in the early evening (sometimes with a wine in one hand and a hose in the other), there is not a great deal of work to do. Keeping the place tidy was fairly simple as it was left immaculate when we arrived. A car is almost essential but there's a great car rental place right next to the station. We are looking forward to meeting up with Steve and Christine when they visit us on the other side of the world in December this year.

We spent 4 wonderful weeks in England house sitting for Steve and Christine. They have a lovely home with beautiful gardens, very close to the train station. They left very clear instructions to care for their home and garden and were kind enough to pick us up at our hotel and give us a short tour of the area. We enjoyed walking around their neighbourhood and found it very easy to take the train into London and other communities. This was a great place for us to explore and we really enjoyed connecting with Steve and Christine when they returned from their travels. Fantastic house sit in Virginia Water
Stephen and Christine are a really nice, friendly couple. We house sat for them in June 2023 for just over two weeks. The house is very easy to look after, it is a lovely clean house, we were asked to keep the plants and grass watered. There were no animals to care for, so we had time to see lots of different places, a lot of them are local. The train station is a 15 minute walk away so it’s very handy for London, it’s about a 45 minute journey. We have been house sitters both in the UK and and abroad and this house sit is at the top end of our list - we highly recommend.
