CD loves people but can be afraid of other dogs, so please avoid them.
Someone who will love and take great care of our dog. A non smoker and someone who is considerate of the place they are staying. Due to the community we live in, all applicants must prove they are over 55 to apply. We'd prefer someone who will be mostly a home body and would allow our CD to be near by. CD, being an old lady dog, cannot be left alone for over 4 hours. However, we will pay for respite care twice a week during your time with us, so the house sitter can be away from the home for an extended period (arranged in advance).
Our dog has limited vision and needs eye drops for glaucoma twice daily and also pills for arthritis. She is very easy to handle and cooperates with both the drops and pills. CD is extremely well behaved. She needs to be walked in the morning and at dinner time and to have a breaks midday. She is very loving and sweet and will want to climb up on the bed to sleep with you.
We live in a beautiful resort style, (gated, 55+) community less than a mile from the sand. We are about 2 miles from Main Street in Huntington Beach where you'll find lots of fun restaurants, shops and the pier. Our home is located in a lovely area. We have great amenities including a large pool, jacuzzi, fully equipped gym, putting green, pickleball and tennis courts. All are located at the main recreation area. Groceries, restaurants and other shops are within walking distance or an easy drive.
Must love cuddly dogs! We are looking for someone experienced with a senior dog. She has lost her vision to glaucoma and is completely blind. You will be her "seeing eye person" when out walking. You must be comfortable having CD around you all the time. She is a rescue and somewhat insecure when we are away. Note: there may be coyotes in the area, so must be vigilant when walking CD.
No, sorry.

Wonderful dog sit in a beautiful 55+ Community
I had a delightful time tending CD in Huntington Beach, California. Lots of fun walks with a beautiful dog. Lots of fun in the 55+ community that was so friendly that I could live there forever. Holly and Bill were the best. They communicated well, always caring about me and CD. I would enjoy doing another sit for them as it was such a delightful time. Everything was taken care of. I felt like a queen. If you ever have the opportunity to tend for Holly and Bill, take it. You will not be sorry in any way. Wonderful sit, wonderful people, wonderful dog.

Beautiful Craftsman Home and the sweetest pup.
Holly and Bill were amazing and we instantly fell in love with their pup, CD. CD is the sweetest and well mannered dog( it was hard to say goodbye)! Holly and Bill made our first house sitting experience extremely easy and very rewarding. They provided a booklet, and were very informative in outlining in detail, how to care for CD as well as their lovely home( which was most helpful and comforting). Communication was very easy. They even provided extra care so we could enjoy a couple of days exploring the area. Such an amazing experience! The Earl's are such a joy to sit for! Highly recommended!

Beautiful Craftsman Bungalow
Throughly enjoyed my opportunity to meet Bill,Holly and C.D. they made me feel very welcome. Their home is lovely and in a perfect California neighborhood with good restaurants and Farmer’s market close by. I also enjoyed the arboretum only 3-4 miles away. Holly and Bill have a complete booklet with ever conceivable question you would ever need to fill comfortable. However the best part was C.D. their precious fur baby, she is so sweet and well behaved can’t say enough good things about her! In my humble opinion you certainly would enjoy the opportunity to meet the Earle family. You won’t be disappointed. Bettie, September 2021
