About this assignment
Hi,
Looking for someone reliable and respectful of other people's property. My house is very newly renovated and I am quite “house proud” and want to keep it clean and tidy. It is in a great location on the edge of a beautiful town in the Cotswolds.
I have 2 cats and a fish tank. The older cat is very independent but also really friendly and loves company. The younger one is just a kitten, very cuddly and a bit needy (!) hence I'm keen for a live-in house sitter for the odd occasion I have to be away.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Just to make sure the house, cats and fish are fed and well looked after and that the cats gets some love and attention.
Also litter tray cleaned, plants watered and bins emptied (if there on the relavant day)
What are the good features of the property and location
Fantastic and highly sought after location in the beautiful town of Woodstock, on the edge of the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire. Woodstock itself is gorgeous with great cafes, pubs, boutiques and of course Blenheim Palace which hosts loads of great events - all within walking distance.
Location ideal for long walks, Cotswold villages and visits to Oxford.
The house is 3 bedroom, one family bathroom and one separate loo. It does have all the conveniences like a garden, off street parking and easy buses to Oxford at the end of the road.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
No children and no other pets please. Respectful, calm and chilled adults only please. Preferably someone with kitten experience, she is very sweet but just needs a close eye on her so she doesn't get into too much mischief! The older cat can access outside via a cat flap but the kitten is still indoors only and does try to escape!
She will want to sleep on your bed, great furry cuddles!!

A joyful stay with Sabu, Olive, and their wonderful owner
I had a wonderful time pet and house sitting for Vanessa and am grateful for the trust she placed in me to care for her beloved pets and beautiful home. Looking after Sabu, a gentle, calm, and majestic cat, and Olive, a tiny, playful kitten, was an absolute joy. Olive’s energy and curiosity brought so much fun, while our quiet cuddle moments were just as special. It was lovely to observe the bond between them — Olive clearly adores her big brother, even if Sabu sometimes finds her enthusiasm a bit too much. Caring for the fish tank was also a highlight, especially as two of the fish had babies during my stay — a fascinating thing to witness. Vanessa was a wonderful host who made me feel very welcome, and the location offered beautiful walks nearby and Oxford just a short bus ride away. I must admit I’m a little jealous of Vanessa — and of anyone lucky enough to care for the cats in the future — who will get to watch the beautiful bond between Sabu and Olive grow even stronger. :-)

Great House/Cat Sit
Vanessa gave good instructions and her flat was lovely with a nice conservatory and garden. The kitty, Sabu was sweet and fun and we miss him. We enjoyed Woodstock immensely with Blenheim Palace and grounds at our doorstep. The town itself has all amenities you need and is a 30 minute bus ride from Oxford. We highly recommend this housesit.
