Hi. Our family dog, Loki, likes his home comforts. We are going away from 14/7/24 to 28/7/24. We are looking for someone to look after him in our family home in Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales,.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Other than feeding the dog and taking him for walks, that's all. There would be just typical tasks of your own home: tidying up and putting out the rubbish, some plants to be watered etc.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is a large detached property in the town of Skipton in North Yorkshire. It has a large garden which is completely fenced in for Loki and is in a quiet cul de sac within minutes walk of a large park and also the town centre. Potentially there is a small car to use, though some of our overseas house sitters have found getting UK insurance difficult. Not having a car might be a bit limiting, but there is still plenty to do within walking distance of the house, if you like the outdoors and there is a reasonable bus service and local trains. We are 20 minutes country walk from the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The dog is the main thing. He is a 4 year old whippet. His food routine is simple. He has 2-3 walks a day and loves to go sniffing around in the park and along the many footpaths and the canal towpath. He is very particular about whether he wants to go out or not. He spends most of the day sleeping!
