About this assignment

A single person or couple who are responsible and reliable. Our cat is a rescue so it’s important to be very patient and calm.
Preferably someone we can call regularly but this is not compulsory.
Non smoker

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Water the plants, take care of the cat, and keep the apartment clean.
Our cat is very cuddly once he gets to know you, however, as he's a rescue cat so he can be quite shy. He's fed three times a day, twice by automatic feeder for biscuits and once by the sitter with wet food. He can spend a lot of time hiding and may not warm to you, but if he does, he will be very affectionate and will want lots of cuddles and grooming. Please don't worry if he doesn't warm to you, this is most common.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our flat is a 5min walk to the tube (Jubilee line), central to London and within walking distance of Hampstead Heath (20 mins) if you want to get out of the city environment. The apartment is on the 2nd floor without a lift, so we’d recommend people who are comfortable with stairs.
You can use the wifi as much as you want but we don’t own a TV so if movies are your thing please bring your laptop :)

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The cat (Walt) is a long haired cat so please be sure you’re comfortable with grooming and vacuuming to ensure the apartment doesn’t become covered in fur. We would like someone who’s comfortable with lazy, shy cats, meaning not get frustrated if he doesn’t come out when you call him or decides it’s not the right time for cuddles.
It would be great if the person/couple could arrive before the dates (hotel/Airbnb preferably) so that they can get to know the cat, visit the apartment and get a set of keys before we leave.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Catsitting

I did a catsit for Corine in august. Corine was very friendly and a super host. She explained everything well and responded quickly. It was a pleasure to take care for her cat Walter. Walter is a rescued cat so he was very shy at first. Day after day he gots more comfortable and at day four he enjoyed being brushed from me and play. Their flat is in zone two in London and public transportation is close by so it was very easy to get to the city and do sightseeing. It was a lovely experience, I can highly recommend it.

Gorgeous flat and precious Walt

We had such a lovely time housesitting Walt for Corine and Sebastian. Although shy at first, Walt soon came out of his shell and was an adorable little companion whom we both fell in love with. We already miss his little meows and evening cuddles on the couch. The flat is in an incredible location to explore London, in a great neighbourhood with lots of cafes and shops, and easy transport with the tube about a 10min walk away. Corine and Sebastian are a lovely couple, gave us clear instructions and were responsive while away. We'd be back to look after Walt in a heartbeat!

Nice Apartment and Shy Walter.

Corine and Sebastian are a lovely couple, they were a pleasure to get to know, even briefly and always willing to answer my questions and make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They warned me that Walter was very shy due to ,his past history, including some time spent in a Rescue Centre and that I should not be surprised if he spent most of the time under the bed as he was quite weary of strangers. This he did, and because I was only there for three days I very rarely saw him but he is lovely nevertheless. The flat is very comfortable and well located for public transport to reach anywhere in London. Highly Recommended.

Lovely cat and a very nice house

This is a fantastic place with an adorable cat. A cosy, beautiful and clean appartment in a perfect location with parcs, nice coffeebars, grocerystores, well situated, metro and busses closeby. Corine and Sebastian are very kind hosts. Everything was clear and well communicated. Walt is so sweet and cuddly, I would highly recommand this place!

Cozy place in London with adorable Walt

Looking after Walt was absolute delight. He is a precious little cutie. As he is rescue took him a couple of days to warm up to me but once he did, he had no problems to come cuddle in bed. The apartment is well located and well connected with public transportation. Chelsea area is only 15-20 minutes walk. Many restaurants around with amazing food options. Corine and Sebastian had explained everything so well and we kept good communication through my whole stay. Highly recommend :-)
