We're looking for someone who knows how to take care of horses.
We also have cats, goose and chickens, but they're pretty independants and except opening and closing the door morning and night for the chicken, they don't need much taking care of except for food.
We also have a dog, pretty calm, can stay alone for extented period of time buf of course he has to be taken out several times a day. If you plan to stay away the whole day, there's still the possibility of letting him outside in the horse stables, or taking him with you.
You'll have to take the horses into their field in the morning, and back inside for the night.
If the weather is good, two of them can stay out Day and night which makes it way easier to care for them.
If they're inside during the night, you'll have to feed them some hay for the night and clean a bit each Day (takes about 15 minutes a day)
A quick watering of the garden would be appreciated in exchange of enjoying the food it provides (mainly Peas, tomatoes, potatoes, strawberries, raspberries...)
We're in the countryside, no neighbours (the nearest ones are over a kilometer away), so calm is the main word.
Just behind the property is the "canal of Saint Quentin", a couple of boats passes by each Day and you can either take a walk or ride bicycles along the banks.
Nearby you'll also find a forest for some walks.
Our house has been fully renovated recently.
You'll mainly need to know how to care for horses. If you're not familiar with them, please do not apply.
Please also note that you'll need a car for your all your moves since we're kind of in the middle of nowhere :)
No, sorry.

Incredible Host & Amazing Experience
We had a truly wonderful week housesitting on Odile’s beautiful farm in the Hauts-de-France region. Her charming, renovated farmhouse is just 1.5 hours from Paris, making it the perfect blend of countryside tranquility and city accessibility. We spent a few nights in Paris before renting a car and enjoying our week surrounded by little villages, fields, and fresh country air. Odile was incredibly organized and thoughtful, providing clear written instructions for caring for her home and animals. We especially enjoyed feeding apples to the three friendly horses, collecting fresh eggs from the chicken coop, harvesting vegetables from the garden, and picking apples and plums straight from the trees. Our two boys were warmly welcomed—Odile even baked them a delicious homemade apple pie! She also left us a list of wonderful local recommendations, including the medieval town of Laon, a nearby lake, and exotic animal farms. Ralph, her gentle German Shepherd, quickly became a beloved companion, especially on our daily walks. Odile’s excellent communication, warm hospitality, and the peaceful beauty of her farm made this an unforgettable stay. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone looking to enjoy the charm of the French countryside.
