We are looking for someone who loves dogs and cats. We have a 11 year old chocolate Labrador called Rolo who loves his short walk first thing in the morning and a main walk later on in the morning or afternoon and enjoys being made a fuss of . We also have Cadbury, a Siamese chocolate pawed cat who is 6 years old. Cadbury loves going in and out of the cat flap exploring but always comes back for meals. Rolo and Cadbury are devoted to one another and both require a lot of tlc. If you like being entertained, this is the place for you!
Caring for our pets is the main responsibility, Rolo has 2 walks a day, one first thing the morning and his main walk later on in the morning or early afternoon. We take him for a walk up the garden last thing at night before going to bed. He enjoys having a snooze after his walks, he has food at breakfast and supper and loves the company of people. Cadbury is an independent cat, with quite a character. He will go in and out of the cat flap and return for food and company. He has breakfast lunch and supper and we shut the flap at night to protect him from predators.
We would appreciate the house being kept in a clean and tidy condition, the house plants kept watered as well as daily watering of the outside pots and a couple of flower beds during the heat of the summer. Generally we are looking for an eye to be kept on the house and property .
We live in a comfortable contemporary bungalow in the village of Heath and Reach with a spacious garden. The house is fully equipped with all mod cons to a high standard and it very cosy and comfortable. Heath and Reach is a friendly village and we have lovely neighbours who will stop and chat to Rolo. We are close to the historic village Woburn with the Abbey, safari park, antiques and some lovely restaurants. We are about 12 miles from Milton Keynes for retail therapy and 35 minutes from London Euston on a fast train from Leighton Buzzard station which is 2 miles away. Leighton Buzzard has a market on Tuesday and Saturday, there are the major supermarkets and some individual shops to peruse. There is a library with a theatre, cinema and coffee shops. Heath and Reach has a co-op, post office and where the daily newspapers can be purchased, and a couple of pubs all in walking distance of the bungalow. The Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire countryside where we live has lots of lovely places to visit and walk.
Our house sitter would need to be a confident and experienced dog handler. Rolo is well behaved and trained but he needs routine. He loves water and has had some narrow escapes so must be kept on a lead when walking near water. Cadbury is still young and needs lots of cuddles and affection. They are devoted to each other but also love company and being made a fuss of.
