About this assignment
We are looking for a plant and animal lover to take care of our cats. Our home would be ideal for an individual or couple looking to spend a relaxing visit on Oahu's north shore. We want someone who will be considerate to our neighbors.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Keep an eye on our cats, Midge & Bugg - checking to make sure they have food, water and occasional treats. Pets and cuddles if possible.
Let the cats outside in the day and lure them back inside in the evening.
Keep our house tidy and enjoy the incredible location!
What are the good features of the property and location
Clean, comfortable and cozy home on the beautiful north shore next to the Mokuleia Polo field. World class beach, swimming, snorkeling, turtle watching and surfing steps from our front door. Gated community with incredible amenities - pool, pickleball court, tennis court, private beach access. Laundry machine in unit. Safe and quiet neighborhood in Mokuleia, 10 minutes from historic Haleiwa town.
High speed wifi and TV with access to most services.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Helpful to have a car to access restaurants, shops, groceries and any activities not in walking distance.
One of our cats Midge can be anxious and skittish. It will likely take her some time to warm up to you.
Our unit is in a tight knit, friendly community, and we ask that you please be quiet and respectful of our neighbors.
This spacious one bedroom unit is a ground floor unit sharing a wall with one other unit of neighbors who are usually only there on the weekends.
Can I bring my own pets?

Beautiful sit on the north shore of Oahu
We spent two weeks on Oahu, caring for Bryce and Ranya's two cats, Midge and Bugg. It was a comfortable sit on a lovely part of the island with lots of things to do and see nearby, as well as ocean access, a pool, and tennis and pickleball courts right on the property. The house is small but spacious and the community is gated and safe, with friendly neighbors and wonderful views of the night sky. Midge and Bugg look very much alike, but were easy to tell apart by their very different personalities (that occasionally clashed) and Bugg’s festive bird collar. They are both young and healthy, and much like Bryce and Ranya, great communicators. We were left with detailed instructions and a helpful calendar for alternating between wet and dry food, and the automated litter box made that part of the job a breeze. Bryce and Ranya were easy to reach with the odd question or two, and were very responsive throughout the process, making us feel appreciated and valued.

Great Homeowner and Cat
This was my second time sitting with Midgee the cat. She is extremely easy to care for as she doesn't really like most people. Bryce and Ranya are really nice, gave clear instructions, and they have a new location that is wonderful! Quiet area - you can hear the birds sing while roosting each evening and sometimes the horses whinny from the next property). Nice neighbors and the location is in the country away from the city but near the beach. Great place to relax. I would definitely sit for them again.

Great Beach Sit
Bryce and Ranya were as nice as could be and communication was excellent. Their apartment is in a quiet area with a 60 second walk to a wonderful quiet beach with snorkeling. Its a ways out of town (25 to Wahiawa and major grocery store but I stocked up on the way in from the airport) and about an hour to Honolulu. Drug store and smaller grocer is about 15 min away. I rarely left the area and just had a nice quiet and relaxing time. The apartment was clean and had everything I needed. Wifi was fast and without problems. Midge the cat was a little standoffish to start but we eventually got along enough that I could pet her once or twice without hissing (big progress!). Other than feeding and cleaning her litter box, she did not require anything else. I would definitely sit with Midge again if asked.
