About this assignment
Looking for a trustworthy and reliable person or couple to take care of our friendly and talkative 17 year old cat. The house needs minimal care - just cleaning up after yourself.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Look after Sophie, our friendly, well behaved cat. Feed her dry food twice a day and wet food in the evening, play and cuddle with her, keep the water bowls full, and scoop the litter trays into the garbage. Other than that, we would expect a sitter to clean up any messes they make.
What are the good features of the property and location
The property is a 2-bed, 1.5-bath condo conveniently located in Wooster Square in New Haven. Right by the famous apizza joints, Sally's and Frank Pepe's, plus several other Italian restaurants, some cafes, an Italian pastry shop, and Wooster Square Park. Downtown and Yale campus are just a 15-20 minute walk away, as is the train station. There are frequent trains to NYC and Boston, with connections to JFK, BOS, and other airports. Buses stop a block away, going to East Haven, or just a few blocks away, going into downtown.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
You should have experience with taking care of cats.
We unfortunately don't have a parking space to offer, so we're hoping to find someone who is okay to rely on walking and public transportation to get around. In the unlikely event of an emergency, you would need to take Sophie to the emergency vet by taxi, rideshare, or other means. We would reimburse you for any expenses.

Ed and Alia, thank you for the great review. I really enjoyed getting to know Sadie and Sophie! Sophie is the most expressive cat I have ever met, and I've met a lot! She kept me so entertained. Sadie is obviously more laid back, but she joined me more frequently than I expected her to. Both cats are delightful, and I am so pleased that I had the opportunity to care for them while you were away. I appreciate your kind hospitality, and all you did to ensure that I was comfortable in your home. You responded so quickly to my inquiries, which I especially appreciate given the time difference.
