About this assignment
I am looking for somebody to take care of my cats and the house. The house in a country house, with a chimney for heating, electricity form solar panels. Everything is really easy, but it does need somebody a bit "hands on". There are two cats. The older one, Pixie, is 2 y.o., male, neutered, all black. . The little one, chappetta, is just 6 months old now, very sweet and playful. I look for someone that loves cats an understands their needs, understands that they need to play and stay outside. The house has a big garden, but it doesn't need much care.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Taking care of my cats, feeding them properly, keep them company and look after them. Keep the house in good conditions., water the garden. Both cats are used to go in and out of the house as they like, and this have to continue. i am now buying GPS tags, so it would be easy to locate them. My cats both sleeps with me, especially the little one, so it would be nice if the cat sitter is happy with that, but that's not very important. The house dosen't need much work but you will need to turn on the generator for about one hour every day (or more in cloudy days).
What are the good features of the property and location
The house is in the very center of the island, so is ideal for exploring. it's a quiet spot in the nature, with lots of nice walks around. The closest village, Sencelles, has all the basics, from pharmacy to supermarket to restaurants and a doctor.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
There is no buses to arrive at the house, so you'll need to have a transportation. Ideally a car, but you can also move with a bike or a scooter to sencelles and from there you'll have buses. I will leave my car for the cat sitter to use in case of emergency. The closest vet is not at biking distance. Again, it's a country house with some special features as described, so you will need to feel comfortable with that. The dates are slightly flexible, there is enough room in the house to share if the cat sitter likes to come earlier or leave later.

What a lovely person Michela is! A most interesting woman! I stayed in Michela's home for close to a month at Christmastime 2023 and loved the relaxation! Michela was very kind and great with instructions as to what to do around her home while she was away. Her home was in the country with a very relaxed setting, with two of the most adorable cats I've been around; I could've taken little Chaps home with me, she was so affectionate and cuddly! There were a couple of challenges that were easily met because of her attentiveness to texts and details. No problem. I had use of her car in case a vet was necessary (which didn't happen), and that was very kind and generous. I was more comfortable at Michela's home than I was driving around the beautiful countryside of Mallorca! I would go back again to visit or pet sit. The yard work I did was productive and healing, felt good to be busy and help out. Michela is quite a resourceful and on-task woman, accomplished and intelligent. Thank you for a great stay!

Pixie and Dixie in Palma
I was fortunate to spend over two weeks in Michela’s rooftop apartment in Palma with her lovely cats, Pixie and Dixie. The location was great, on the edge of the historic city centre with all the shops and restaurants you could need. Close by are city bus stops and it is a short walk to the terminus for buses and trains to other parts of Mallorca. From the terrace there were views over the roofs to the sea and hills beyond and of fabulous sunsets. The apartment was comfortable and convenient and despite being in the city it felt remarkably peaceful. Michela was very welcoming and hospitable. She was kind enough to collect me from the airport and waited patiently for my delayed flight. I enjoyed our interesting conversations and hearing about her fascinating travels. She is very organised and made arranging the house sit very easy. Pixie and Dixie were a joy to be with. Friendly and affectionate with boundless energy, they loved to play and were always keen to join in with anything that you were doing. I recommend wholeheartedly any opportunity to house sit with them.
