About this assignment
A person or couple who is kind, gentle and understanding in supporting our three dogs and two cats. Someone who loves long walks in the beautiful Devon countryside and is happy to potter around our 6-acre woodland, field and garden. Beautiful walks in the vicinity, but we can provide a car if you need wheels.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Feeding the menagerie - we will ensure all food is here for you. Walking the dogs and generally enjoying the area and our home.
If you love gardening, then feel free but as this is a winter sit, nothing much will be growing. Cats love a cuddle and dogs love a warm hearth and a friendly pat.
What are the good features of the property and location
We live in a beautiful part of Devon, close to the sea; the house is situated in its own 6-acres of woodland and paddock for exploring.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
We are very rural. The closest town is 6-miles away. The nearest shop is a 5-minute drive. We have excellent internet and good food delivery; however, we are happy to provide you with a small car if you would like to visit some of the beaches and cliff walks around Devon.

We would like to thank Melanie and Trevor for their warm hospitality, and making us feel very much at home. The dogs, Moki, Chang and Bella were a delight to look after and Genie the cat was also good company and all four were on their best behaviour. The Old Rectory was comfortable and warm and the neighbours were friendly and helpful. We appreciated having the use of the small car during our stay which gave us the opportunity to go shopping and explore the area, as well as taking the dogs out and about.
