Our cats are "Oriental Shorthair" - a type of cat known for its people-friendliness - they really love attention and they might insist in sleeping in your bed...
Our highest priority for our prospective house sitters is that you love cats and plants - our three lovely cats Kabir, Gopi and Tetu need people to spend a bit of time with them and be responsive to them. We also have a gorgeous house around a kind of terrace/courtyard - it's kind of quirky and arty with lots of natural materials, we even turned an old stone pig pen into a wonderful bathroom and some of the house is built on the same kind of boulders that make this landscape so timeless and untameable. So we also want people who LIKE to take care of plants - they need watering twice a day in summer, all in all maybe 60 to 90 minutes of work a day, some weeding, mulching etc to keep the ground from drying out.
And... we have a wonderful home with a sunny terrace and large cosy living room - we are looking for people with a sense of responsibility who will take care of our home - and maybe do small things in our garden too.
Looking after the cats, watering and taking care of plants, and keeping the house clean and beautiful. Check the post box occasionally and we hope you enjoy walking around our beautiful land and keep an eye on Mimi's yurt as well which is on the wild part of our Quinta.
The location here is unique and stunningly beautiful - our partly wild land is 8 hectares with lots of huge granite boulders as well as orange, olive and other fruit trees. There are two large lakes at 14 and 23 km away from here - as well as endless walks on ancient pilgrim paths.
It can get hot in the summer - up to 41 degrees is possible, though mostly around 35. There is plenty of shade on our terraces and under the cork oaks.
Yes
Restrictions: Ok to bring a dog IF it is absolutely cat friendly and well behaved

An Experience to Treasure
Romeck and Mimi's hospitality was instantaneous and all-embracing. Reminiscent of distant cultures, lands, and ways, their beautiful house is a little gem hidden away from the casual passers-by. Simple, functional, and captivating with unique art and quirky memorabilia, it was a pleasure to live in and look after. We got to spend a bit of time together with our hosts. Their easy-going, caring, and attentive company made us feel right at home. Their instructions were clear and sensible, and their love for the home they have created permeated the space. But this one was no mere housesit. We got to keep company with our two majestic feline hosts, Gopi and Kabir. They quickly allowed us to become their biggest fans. Spending most of the day doing their own thing, they would convene every evening back home to let us adore them. Gopi likes company. She hones her hunting skills by catching dragonflies mid-air during the day, and by keeping the moth population under control at nighttime. Kabir likes to disappear for hours, and when he finally reappears after a hard day's work, he will demand his fair share of cuddles. If that is not the highlight of his day, it most definitely is one for us! Over the 5 weeks, Romeck and Mimi kept in touch, patiently received our updates and offered immediate reactions whenever necessary. The time just flew by! The only thing we truly disliked about that assignment was that it had to end. So next time Romeck and Mimi are looking for sitters, make sure you apply. And be ready to fight us for it! ;)
