Costa Rica - Central Valley with dogs, garden, fresh air, lots of nature, and a view

About this assignment

50+ Couple retired or working from home. Responsible, able to handle any reasonable situation involving a large home with pets, and unafraid of navigating life (and a small bit of wildlife) in Central America.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

- Watch the house
- Walk the dogs 1-2 times daily (great walking path through the neighborhood with super views and almost no traffic)
- Feed the dogs
- Enjoy the area
- keep the plants watered in the greenhouse (will give instructions)
- interact with maid and gardener as needed and pay them weekly

What are the good features of the property and location

- 1400 m / 4200 ft elevation so no AC or heat, windows open almost all the time (we only close when windy out)
- wide open space with expansive views of the central valley
- swimming pool
- mostly quiet except for wildlife and occasional city sounds
- Super circular road for a nice long walk (1 mile) with very little traffic.
- Wildlife preserve with trails in our development
- fully gated and very secure community
- great neighbors

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

- Not far from downtown San Jose and Escazu (~ 10 miles each), but can take a while in a car if you wish to visit each
- far enough from the city of Santa Barbara that walking to town isn't really convenient, however very doable if you wish. Uber is inexpensive and taxi's are available.
