Responsible, compassionate, and loving towards animals. Someone who is looking for a relaxing getaway, but able to devote some time to our pets and house.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
We have 3 adorable indoor-only cats. We have a screened porch that they love to hang out on, but not outside of that. We feed them a little soft food in the morning and evening. The house doesn't need much attention. There are vegetable garden plants and potted plants, but they are on a timed/automatic watering schedule. Indoor plants are watered once a week.
What are the good features of the property and location
We have a nice screened porch and outdoor patio area with hot tub to hang out. We have a bright, open living room. Or for time when you want it darker, we have a den area, good for movie watching. We have a spa-like master bath. We are within walking distance of Umstead Park and a NC State University Forest. We are 5 minutes from downtown Cary and about 15 min from downtown Raleigh and RDU Airport.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
Our cats are easy to care for but do crave lots of treats and attention. And of course a few belly rubs! The house does not require much attention.
Can I bring my own pets?

Comfortable peaceful spot and convenient to everything
I had no trouble finding their home tucked away but not far from major arteries, and ideally located within a short drive to area sights and activities (NC Farmers Market, museums, arboretum, Capitol). Mid summer is typically steamy but their house is tucked among trees and stays cool. Susie keeps a notebook of simple to follow instructions from watering plants to operating the hot tub (I did not use). Walking opportunities are right outside the door. All that plus 3 adorable, uber personable cats who are fun, curious and easy to entertain. Took less than a day for them to accept me into their pack! It was a joy to be there.

Perfect balance of relaxation and fun!
Josh and Susie welcomed me to their beautifully-situated, quiet home in Raleigh. Not only was everything in order, and a helpful instruction manual available, but they even left me a yummy charcuterie board and bottle of good wine for my enjoyment! The house itself is very comfortable, and I had a great time hanging out with their furry “kids” on the screened-in porch and in their wooded, tastefully landscaped back yard. It’s hard to believe this peaceful oasis is just a few minutes from fantastic shopping and dining, but quite true! Their terrier mix, Rusty, was a delight—energetic but well-trained and extremely endearing. Piper, the border collie, is getting on in years and loves combing and attention—so sweet! The cats are all young and had a great time chilling with me on the porch or playing games with fuzzy toys. All in all, a very relaxing stay. I highly recommend this situation to anyone wanting to visit the Triangle!

Awesome Homeowners and Pets
I had the extreme pleasure of meeting and house/pet sitting for Susie and Josh, along with their wonderful pets. The house is beautiful. and so peaceful in a residential yet wooded area with an amazing back yard. The pets 3 cats Ginger, Samson, Remy and 2 dogs Piper and Rusty are all so wonderful. They were a pleasure to spend time with and each have their own cute personalities. They were all a joy. I was surprised with a welcome basket, which ironically had some of my favorite items in it! They welcomed me to their vegetable and herb garden, as well as fresh eggs, which were delicious! I would love to sit for them anytime and they will all be missed.
