About this assignment

Aloha, come and enjoy beautiful Hawaii! We are located on the island of Oahu (for some reason, the website keeps changing our address to Big Island). We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and clean person (or couple) to take care of our 3 cats, fish, and home while we are traveling for 3 weeks in June. We hope to find someone with experience in house/pet sitting, who will give our cats lots of love and attention while we are away, and take care of our home as if it was their own. We also would like to receive updates and photos of our beloved fur babies while we are away.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibilities are to feed our cats 2 to 3 times a day (dry and wet food), give medicine to a cat (in a treat or with a pill feeder), change their water daily, feed the fish once a day, clean the two kitty litter boxes twice a day, and water a few plants daily. We also would require that the house is maintained clean and to send us frequent updates and photos of our babies.

Our cats are well-behaved, clean, and affectionate. Preta and Monkey are both 20 years old, a little shy at first but will love to sit next to you on the sofa to get some love. They are both in good health and spend most of their time sleeping. Rose is 6, very playful and active, and loves to run around the house and be the center of attention. She loves people and needs someone to play with her. They like to sleep in bed with us.

Monkey and Preta are elderly (20) so we are looking for somebody that can care for them with love, patience and compassion.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are located on the amazing island of Oahu, in Honolulu County. We have a two-story 3 bedroom townhome in Kaneohe, about 15-20 minutes from beautiful beaches and hikes, and 5-10 minutes to malls and restaurants. There are many incredible beaches and amazing hikes all around the island (many nearby), like the famous Lanikai, Kailua, Waimanalo, Waikiki, Hanauma Bay, Pipeline, Sunset, and Waimea Bay. Beyond these more well-known attractions, there are endless options for outdoor activities like swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, canoeing, hiking, and sightseeing. There are also many restaurants and cultural attractions like museums and the Pearl Harbor memorial. Our townhome is in a great family community with access to a pool and in a quiet, lush, and open neighborhood on the foothills of the breathtaking Koolau mountains, perfect for a morning or afternoon walk. High-Speed Internet is available and we have a well-equipped home office. The grocery store is just 0.7 miles from our house.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our home is split level so potential house sitters will need to be physically able to walk up and downstairs. Public transportation is available but renting a car will probably be best. Potential sitters must be able to commit to the dates and have reviews.

Smoking, drugs, and overnight guests are not allowed in the house.
