Looking for a cat sitter

About this assignment

We're looking for a responsible, mature house sitter who is patient with animals as our kitties are very shy with humans :) but they're both super sweet and loving.

Some areas of the garden will need watering (only in the Summer).

We need someone over 25 who can drive manual cars (we can lend you one) or can bring their own car.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed the kitties, put the GPS collar at night, change the water and play with them. Give the asthma medication to one of the kitties. Water the plants in the garden (in Summer) and look after the house.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is in a residential area with a 1,000sqm garden. You’ll need a car or be able to drive to move around. We can lend you a car if you're over 25 and have a valid permit. We have a couple of bikes you can use as well. If you arrive by public transport we can pick you up in Talavera de la Reina.

Within walking distance there’s a supermarket and a couple of bars (everything else is either a long walk or a short car trip away). We’re super close to the dam where there’s a camping site with a lovely restaurant and terrace, and at the lake you can do windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking... About 10 mins by bike there’s a horseback riding school where you can go for a ride for about 20 euros per hour. There are a couple of nice public swimming pools close-by and a golf course.

There are plenty of things to do. You can visit the beautiful and lively town of Talavera de la Reina (20 mins away), explore the Sierra de San Vicente (30 mins away) and hike in the nearby mountains of Gredos (1 hr away). You can also visit Toledo, Candeleda, Arenas de San Pedro, Valle del Tiétar, La Vera... which are about 1 hr away from here. And if you fancy a bit of urban life, Madrid is only 1.5 hrs away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our cat Boogie nearly died because he ate a shoestring so it's very important to keep all strings, straps, rubber bands... out of his reach. Boogie is a picky eater... Zoë has asthma so she might need to take some medication (tablets or inhaler).

Ideally we would like to spend a couple of days before we leave with the pet sitter so we can explain about the food, routines, etc.

It gets very hot in summer but we have AC in the house and there's a small pool in the garden.

Can I bring my own pets?
