Lots of Cats in New Braunfels, Texas

About this assignment

Someone who loves cats. I mean - really loves cats. I have 5 indoor cats and manage a feral cat community (they’ve been spayed/neutered and vaccinated through our local humane society). Someone responsible - early riser is best (but not necessary) because I normally feed the cats early.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Feed and water five indoor cats. Feed/water the outdoor cats right at the back door in the morning and evening (the friendlier ones may approach, but they’ll likely not come near you.) Clean the water bowls and water fountains at least weekly. Empty two litter boxes twice a day. Maintain pool chemicals (mainly adding chlorine and dry acid to the pool). Water plants if needed.

What are the good features of the property and location

Historic German town between Austin and San Antonio. Tourist location with great live music scene (Redbird Listening room is at the end of the block), Schlitterbahn water park and Gruene historic district. House is conveniently located near downtown New Braunfels. Heated Endless pool for soaking or exercise (it’s like a treadmill for swimming). And a home gym with bike trainer, Pilates reformer and weights if you’re into that sort of thing. Grocery store two blocks away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Need to like cats! Be available in the mornings and evenings to feed both groups of cats. Ideally, be familiar with pool maintenance, but it’s fairly easy.
