About this assignment

We’re looking for sheep enthusiasts to care for our 50 sheep and three sheepdogs, keep an eye on our 6-hectare property, and enjoy our beautifully renovated home just 15 minutes from Oviedo and 20 minutes from Gijón. The house sits on our regenerative farm, featuring a large apple cider orchard, foodforest and, of course, our flock of sheep.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

You’ll take care of the sheep and dogs in the mornings and afternoons; about an hour of work per day. The tasks include feeding them and providing water which depends on the weather if they are in or outside. Further keeping an eye on things in case something happens, always in direct contact with us. They’re the friendliest sheep you’ll ever meet!

What are the good features of the property and location

Asturias is one of the most beautiful provinces in Spain, famous for its lush nature and stunning landscapes. The climate is mild year-round, rarely dropping below 5°C in winter, with pleasant daytime temperatures.

Our land is surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

The house is ideally located—just 30 minutes from both the sea and the mountains, 15 minutes from Oviedo, 20 minutes from Gijón, and only 5 minutes from a small town with all essential services.

It’s a renovated home with modern amenities, including a small office space and fast Wi-Fi.

Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with many hiking and biking routes starting right from the house and leading into the nearby hills.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You should feel comfortable taking care of sheep and our dogs, but the work only takes about an hour a day — leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and make the most of your holiday.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.
