About this assignment

A lover of animals is the most important thing for me.
Someone who is sensitive to animal needs.
Someone who enjoys being in nature.
Someone who enjoys to be home.
Someone who will treat my home with love and respect as if it is their own.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

To look after two dogs who are lovely but very sensitive. They both have their peculiarities due to being rescued.
To look after one cat who is very easy and friendly.
A daily dog walk from the house.
To water and care for the vegetable garden and plants. It is very dry and hot so there is quite a lot of watering to do each day.

What are the good features of the property and location

I built the house just under 10 years ago. It is semi-off grid, using solar panels only for electricity. The house is very light and well insulated so extremely energy efficient
The location is in the lower part of the Pyrenees between Ordesa National Park and The Sierra de Guara.
Although the house is secluded, we do have neighbours and we form part of a small village called Guaso which has a small bar in the village Square which serves delicious vegetarian food, just a kilometer away from the house. We are a 10 minute drive from the popular tourist destination Ainsa and Boltana.
The house has spectacular views and is surrounded by mountains and trails.
The house has WIFI, television, everything you need.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You will need your own car. Shops etc are a 10 minute drive away.
To be happy to start your day around 6.30/7am which is when the dogs and cat are asking for breakfast and to be let out (its so light so early which is why they wake so early). To be honest, this is the best time of the day and the most comfortable to go walking and to be outside.
To be patient and understanding with sensitive rescue dogs.
This house sit won't suit someone who wants to be out trekking all day, everyday!
This would suit a single person or couple who like to be home or need to work remotely from home.
There are lovely walks from the house and of course, you have your freedom to explore the area but not too many hours at a time as i don't like leaving the dogs too long.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Beautiful location with amazing views

It was a wonderful experience for me to look after Emily’s animals and beautiful home. I had never looked after donkeys before so that was quite exciting. Emily is a beautiful, warm person, easy to communicate with. She showed me the ropes and cooked me a delicious tortilla the first evening. She was easy to contact if need be but luckily everything went smoothly. I highly recommend Emily’s house sit.
