About this assignment
We are looking for someone(s) who enjoy the great outdoors and will love one well trained dogs while living in our home. We live in Bailey Colorado at 9000 feet which is 70 miles west of Denver. We will leave an AWD vehicle with snow tires and snow shoes for those wanting to get outdoors. The house borders the national forest. THere is just one dog now. This is an opportunity to get away from the noise and craziness of July 4 weeked. Denver is about 90 minutes away. We want people who will enjoy being away while caring for one fabulous dog. There is one security camera outside over the driveway, mainly so we alerted of packages delivered. Need arrival July 1 and can spend the night or by 8 a.m. on July 2 - July 7 (can leave anytime after 10 a.m.)
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
One dog who is fine for up to 12 hours at a time but prefer companionship, and need at least a daily walk.Trails start out the door; hot tub available for use. Dog is fed twice a day. There is no clean up after her. Ensure water containers are also full.
She likes to be brushed.
What are the good features of the property and location
It's a glorious mountain home at 9000 feet of elevation and the national forest is right outside the door. Wildlife comes through the yard; hiking trails are out the door. A small town is 15 minutes away; shopping is 30 minutes.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The elevation is real and it is remote. Please don't apply if you have any breathing challenges. The local stores are 8 miles away. There are wonderful neighbors next door. The house has internet.. A generator ensures that there is no power outages.

What a lovely house- and dog-sitting in the nature!
Staying at Roxane's and Steve's beautiful location to sit their dogs was such a blessing for us. Being in the calm nature, watching deers and gazing at the mountains was a real wellness time for us. This is a great place for your time refresh, to enjoy the moment and to realign youself. The house is very organized, clean and simply a beautiful retreat. Both of the dogs are very sweet! We loved taking a walk and hiking and playing around with them. They are well-behaved and just like to be around you. Roxane kindly provided all the information we needed, even picked us up at the airport and more... and both their trust, kindness and generosity was truly impressive. Even when we were very jetlagged, due to our long jounrey form Germany. We enjoyed this beautiful remote location in the forest and mountains very much and we hope we get to come back soon! Great house sit & highly recommended!
We were blessed with the opportunity to house sit for Roxane and Steve. Their beautiful house, located high in the Rockies (9,000 ft., not suitable for everyone), was well furnished with everything desired including a hot tub overlooking the mountain peaks and hiking trails from their backdoor. Their two dogs, Lulu and Monte, were lovable and well trained. Lulu was the best trail dog we have been with, she never strayed and you could see her smile while on the trails. We house sat for one month and the days flew by. Roxane provided very detailed instructions which is so helpful when in a new home/location; no detail needed was left out. Roxane immediately responded via email on the few minor issues that arose (there's always something, that's why we were there). The internet was good despite being a remote location. It's about a 30 minute drive to the grocery store but the surrounding beauty makes it all worth it. We hope to be invited back in the future, it was one of our best house sits, and that includes U.S., South America and Europe.

In my top 3 sits
I couldn’t be more pleased that I took this sit , it’s now in my top 3 list . I was looking for something remote where I could really be in the forest . The house backs to the national forest , so everyday I was able to hike the dogs out the back door and get my fix of snow and sun . Everything was left so meticulous when I arrived , all the systems very organized and every detail accounted for . On top of that , a car was generously provided and the homeowners , Rox and Steve were so kind and easy to communicate with . I had no problems with the dogs , once they get used to you , they are very loving companions and also took to my dog well . I highly recommend this sit and would hope to come back !
