Looking for sitter to look after our country house for 3 months from early November 2026

About this assignment

Someone who will enjoy looking after the house as if it was theirs. The dates indicated are flexible but should include from around mid November to mid-end February. While the house is on a road and has several houses in the immediate vicinity, it is at 550m in the Axarquia and the sitters must love the stunning countryside. They will almost certainly need to drive. Potential friends and social life guaranteed by the typical bar next door + great local food. The area is for cosmopolitan people who want to discover the real Andalucia but also meet other like-minded people looking for the same.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Above all, to contact us immediately by e-mail or WhatsApp if there are any issues with the property or contents. Looking after the garden - 100m2. Keeping an eye on the small pool and informing us of any problem. A pool man is on-call if necessary.

What are the good features of the property and location

1 hour drive from Malaga Airport. Stunning countryside (Axarquia) and the Montes de Malaga, national park. Comares Village 5 minutes by car (40 minutes up-hill walk). Typical "white-washed village" with excellent shop, several bars/restaurants and stunning views. Villa Carlitos is a typical local house, with log fire and beams. We try to use recycled furniture and create an imperfect but cosy environment. Terraces front and back, plenty of plants/flowers but manageable and a small pool.
We have a lot of experience in receiving families and other guests to stay and you can find details of their experiences by searching for "Villa Carlitos, Comares" in Google. You will see that all sorts of people love staying here.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Located on an asphalt road its half-way to "the middle of nowhere". The nearest shop is 5 minutes by car. Los Ventorros is a small hamlet with around 20 village-type houses, a bar (next door, sometimes with live music, always great local food) plus a more international restaurant. Malaga Capital 45 minutes by car; nearest beach area (Torre del Mar) 30 minutes. Due to allergies we can't allow pets.
